I'll be starting a new thread later this week, showing the reverse engineering of the Super 70. First off, I have to record a clip for sound reference. Then after I take all measurements( inductance,ACR,capacitance), a pole screw, a slug, and the keeper will be shipped off for a metal analysis.
I think I sacrificed a real PAF spacer in the name of Noah's '58PAF build.
Guess I should make my aged spacers look less realistic so at least I can tell them apart.
Actually, there is a way to tell my aged maple spacers from a vintage ones: scrape it with the edge of a razor and if it smells like teriyaki sauce and liquid smoke - it's one of mine.
I can tell the difference between my keeper bars and my vintage ones. My keepers are milled to length, and vintage paf/p90 keepers are sheered. I chose not to have mine sheered off as the ends look a lot cleaner.
