OP reminds me of when I was a member over at The Mustang Source. Some guys were cleaning/polishing/detailing their cars every weekend, then drive them back in the garage.

My rules? If I drive, I pick the music. If I let you drive, make sure you don't crash while I'm in it. Otherwise, it's fully insured. :D

Since my Show your cars thread has made another appearance i thought i would make this.
Post the rules people have to follow when riding/driving your vehicle.
(Not my list got it from a camaro forum im on but 98% of the rules listed APPLY to my cars.)
1) No smoking in, on, near, or around the car at any time. Chewing tabaco is also not allowed in the car.
2) No food or drinks. Sealed beverage containers are OK, so long as they are clean. Food may be carried in appropriate containers I deem safe, but never consumed in the vehicle.
3) I am the only person allowed to drive the car.
4) No feet on the dash.
5) Do not roll windows up or down. Only I get to do that.
6) No leaning against my car.
7) No sitting on my car.
8) No pets in my car.
9) No cargo that will scrape up my plastics/rip interior
10) No muddy/dirty/wet shoes/clothing in the car
11) Don't touch any of the controls aside from letting yourself out when we get where we are going and operating the seat belt.
12) No children
13) No child seats
14) Do NOT slam the doors when entering or exiting the vehicle.
15) No crappy drum solos to music on any surface within the vehicle at any time.
16) Don't leave your crap in my car.
17) Always return sun-visors to their upright position when exiting the vehicle.
18) Do not leave the seat belt twisted. Straighten the damn thing out when you take it off.
19) Do not just let go of the seat belt and allow it to slam into random parts of the interior when you get out.
20) Never, under any circumstances mess with the T-Top release lever.
21) No one rides in the back seats. Ever.
22) Do not leave bodily fluids inside my vehicle. This includes your snot, vomit, spit, or "other" fluids.
23) If you got something passed me, and you make a mess in the car, YOU will be cleaning it up until I am satisfied with the results.
24) You do not invite your friends to ride in my car with you, or instead of you at any point, for any reason.
25) You may not volunteer me to give rides to anyone.
26) I like to park far away from other human beings and their cars. You are not allowed to bitch about the walking distance when I do this.
27) Passengers are not allowed to bitch about my driving.
28) Passengers may not bring anything illegal into the vehicle at any point, for any reason.
29) No fat chicks.
30) I will not modify any vehicle rule at any time for any reason so do not ask me to. You are wasting your time trying.
31) No rule applies to me unless I wish it to. (Which 95% of the time I follow these rules without exception.)

A little overboard but i like my cars in pristine condition. :thumb:
let me see what your guys rules are.

Mines simply..Get me from A to B.

I've always taken great care of my autos. Keep them maintained by the book, detailed twice yearly, and have no rules. We don't need no stinkin' rules.....:thumb:

Miriam Webster now has a new definition for OCD. Perhaps we'll see it in the next edition!

I have one of those, I couldn't give a shit less vehicles... 2 actually... daily driver and lumber hauler.

Then there's Lenny. She only goes out on the nice days. And I like to keep her nice and new looking... which requires most, if not all or more, of those rules.

If you do not have one of these, you will not understand... at all. And that's ok.

My rule is this: Don't ride in my car. It's a shithole you don't want to be seen in anyway.

Got any photos of the GTO? :D

Somewhere. I restored it from the ground up about 12 years ago, and haven't scanned photos yet... It was before I was active on the internet, and I just never bothered. I have it in storage at a climate controlled car warehouse my gear head brother owns, so the next time I get out to see him, I'll try to get some photos. :thumb:

My car is just a car. I don't much give a crap about it.

I keep it clean and in good mechanical shape, but beyond that, really, it's just a car.

I do notice, however, that my friends who have "rules" about their cars are more than willing to do whatever occurs to them while in my car.

That having been said, I'd rather walk than put up with their picky bullshit.

I only have 3 rules. Rule 1: Sit down. Rule 2: Shut the f*ck up. Rule 3: If you can not follow rule 1&2 get the f*ck out.

The most important rule in my vehicle is that you HAVE to wear your seatbelt before we start rollin'. Other than that, feel free to eat as much as you want, but if you spill anything, you'll sure as hell be cleaning it up!

Rules for my car?

It's not allowed to hit other vehicles, and it's not allowed to go driving about on its own without me. Also, not allowed to roll over, or break down away from home. I think that covers it. :thumb:

Those are good rules

Depends on which car I'm driving. Some rules are car specific. Others are across the board.

1. Do not touch the radio. Ever
2. Do not touch the convertible locks
3. Do not touch the NOS button.
4. Do not ask if you can drive it.
5. Do not tell me stories how your friend/brother/uncle had one just like mine. They did not.
6. Do not tell me you think my car can give you Slashtone.
7. Do not ask me if my car can give you Slashtone
8. Do not ask me to street race or drive hard in traffic.
9. Do not ask me if it's fast. It's over 500RWHP. WTF you think it is?!
10. Tenth and final rule. Unless you are buck naked, do not touch lean on the car or touch the car in anyway for any reason. Buttons and zippers scratch. If you are male, just walk the **** away.

A bonus question for some: Do not ask me if it is a real Cobra. If you don't know how to spot a real from a fake, you probably do not know WTF you are talking about anyways.

Ha Ha! the bonus question made me laugh :D....I get that quite a lot, & yes you're right, if you don't know etc, etc....My answer to the "Is it real" is usually - Well you're not imagining it are you! :naughty:
