Route a dog ear to fit a humbucker?

I'm toying with the idea of putting a traditional sized humbucker in my LP Junior. I can't seem to find any aftermarket conversion, so I'm wondering if it's as simple as buying a dog ear cover, routing it out with my dremel, drilling two holes for height screws, and voila?

I refuse to route or modify the body, so I'm hoping this would just drop right in.

It might work depending on whether the rout is wide enough for the HB base plate. You might have to remove it and file it narrower to fit.
As long as the dog ear has the mount cut out for the HB, that part will work.

No need to route. It's totally doable. Even 100% stealth.

That one is full size, no compromise. Same bobbins, wire, magnet, baseplate material as a full size PAF. The owner wanted that one totally stealth, otherwise, it could have had a screw coil, just like a PAF, as well.
