Now everybody will rush to get a Gibson or Epiphone. They seem better suited for this game, at least judging by the commercials :)

You mean a firebird x right?
So that'll be $197,99 for just the game then...
Pretty expensive game. I think I'll pass.

Huh? Wake up, Gibson is paying to be the face of this game. I'm sure a Strat will work just fine.

Watching the progress from announcement to near release has got me jittery.

I'm extremely, extremely excited, and I will be pre-ordering this. This is going to be great fun solo and multi-player

Version 1 may not be the most "accurate software", but I'm sure version 4 will be, and I'll be an owner of all.

Pretty much a loyal customer as of right now.

Another amazing feature I just noticed:

"Learn how to properly play songs from memory when Rocksmith challenges you to remove yourself from the notes on screen"

This is going to be so good.

Hey there, folks! I'm Kyle, the Editor-in-Chief of The Gaming Vault (The Gaming Vault: PS3, 360, WII, PSP, DS, PC, Apple News) I am writing a preview for the upcoming game Rocksmith from Ubisoft.

If you have any questions about the game, please let me know and I will try to answer them in my preview. I've been working very closely with the people at Ubisoft and learning about the game, so if you have a question, I will likely be able to answer it!1

Looks very promising. Amazon has it at pre-sale, release date October 18th. Little expensive for a PS3 game ($79.99) but if it works like they said I'll pay it for sure.

Greetings

I'd like to see some uncut video of someone playing an entire song with it. Screenshot and shot of their hands simultaneously. How accurate is this system? It's an awesome concept, but two things make me hesitant to pre-order right now:

1) For years and years none of the big music manufacturers have been able to accurately track a guitar output to MIDI without a hex pickup, and even then it gets a little iffy and glitchy.

2) These videos are heavily edited cut scenes with little footage of actual gameplay.

I want to want it. I really do.

FWIW - I played that Squire Rockband guitar that has sensors under every string on every fret and it was pretty damn accurate. Very expensive and the guitar felt kinda cheap though. I especially did not like the way the 1/2" thick fretboard was misaligned with the neck (leaving a "ledge" between them), but maybe that was just the one I played and I guess it could be sanded smooth worst case scenario.

I agree with you...and that is why with most of my new games I am going to wait till I actually see reviews and videos on youtube before I run down and order it.

Even if it works kinda sorta and I can get something....anything out of it then I will buy it. I am not looking at this as a game but as a tool....if it is more of a game then I will likely pass on it at first....and pick it up for $9 on the bargin bin....but one way or another I will pick it up just to see....even if it helps with a scale I can see some value to it.

I'm cool with it being a game or tool. Both is best of course. I'm just concerned with tracking accuracy.

The Rock Band Squire DOES track great - but it's seriously expensive for a shit guitar. I could build a nice blackguard Tele or Strat for the same price as that system.

...definitely stoked to try Rocksmith at least!
