You'd have to be living in an terrorist cave deep in the mountains for the past 10-12 years to have not heard a Blink 182 song

:laugh2:  Well, um, nope, just don't do much pop music or entertainment type shows. I must have blinked, and missed 'em. :laugh2:

Really, most likely, I'll hear one of these, and go, "Oh, that's Blink 182, I've heard that song.". ...maybe...

Blink 182? Ugh. Why not just put out a Sum 41 and Green day song pack! Fail.

I love the black keys songs so I can't say anything bad about that. I would like to see some more varied stuff out though

They are certainly trying to keep their licensing budget small from the start. Black keys and some of the other indie folks probably havent cost much.

Bring on the full rockband catalog

Why don't you guys create a guitar video game and then put in the music you want?

The thing is I think all of us could agree that is the song catalog was something like;

Led zepplin, ac/dc, gnr, zztop, jimi, etc

We would all be on board as it being a truly Rock guitar catalog, so far its been in drips and drabs to the Rock n roll at heart guitarist at least to me it feels that way.

Blink 182 and the other indie people are not what MOST ROCK guitarists think of when it comes to kick ass riffs or song hooks

I agree completely. I've never heard of Blink 182. Sounds like a code word to me. But then i'm over 50mt so there ya go. I did watch their videos that were posted previously and they had a nice sound though but it ain't R&R to me. Was nice to see some kids that looked like real human being kids that I remember from my youth so there's another feather in their cap in my book. But then one video they were running naked thru da streets, well hell that still looks better to me than how some do dressed up for their gig. Maybe the vid they were dressed in was making fun of how people dress I dont know. But I definitely want to see some real rock bands lined up in the DLC que. I can't pop for iggy pop.

Do you guys really think that Rocksmith can get Zep and AC/DC but they choose not to put it in the game? If you do, you're nucking futs. Those bands are so strict with their music they won't even let companies like Rhapsody stream it.

Wish they'd hurry the frack up on the PC version.

Ditto- I like the XBOX version, but even after doing everything suggested, theres still some lag. Not as noticeable- but it comes and goes in waves, usually within the same song.

And it would probably cost upwards of $500 to pay licenses on those artists.

At least... To my knowledge there isnt any zep in the guitar hero or rock band catalog. Jimi was in the first guitar hero same with guns (axle fkd that up)

I don't see why it should be that much more expensive than other music games out there.

other music games had a much wider user base. this is a niche game. Then you have to factor in that they are actually transcribing the note which I believe cost more than just allowing the green button to play a section of a wave file

Market penetration as mentioned ^ which is made worse by people that don't like the included music who think that protesting by not buying the game or the dlc will encourage Ubisoft to spend more money to license these songs.
