Sorry if it's been mentioned, but has anyone found a satisfactory setting (regarding) lag if you're using an HDMI cable and a plasma display?

I make a change to the settings and think I've improved it, but by a couple of songs later, I'm back to thinking it's awful. Anyway, I'm not really wanting to compromise by switching cables just to play this game, so I'm hoping someone with a similar "set up" as me has found the "sweet spot".

Thanks

My wife has officially stated this is the worst game ever!

I can't figure out why, I am only playing it about 4 to 6 hours a day.

:laugh2:

P.S. I still cannot play SHA. at least as far as the game is concerned. What gives with that song!!! Arrrrgggghhhhhh!!!!!

Are you using PS3 or Xbox? Does your plasma display have a "Game" mode? If so, try it.

I had very little, almost unnoticeable lag during game play straight out of the box using an Xbox connected to a Sony Bravia using HDMI. I noticed the most lag on menu screens when "guitar tone" was activated. I split my Xbox cable and am using HDMI for video and component audio. Zero lag now even on menu screens.

Sorry, yes, I'm using a PS3 connected via HDMI to a plasma TV. The TV does have a Game Mode, and I have been using it.

It's dawned on me that there may be two different things people are considering lag (or maybe just me). I'm pretty happy with the speed at which I hear the notes after I play them, but what I'm trying to correct or improve is the speed in which the "note highway" or streaming notes strike the "play now" line. The video matching the audio, so to speak...

Seems like the song is moving faster than the note indicators. Am I confused as to what people are referring to when talking about "lag"?

again ... You DON'T need xbox live to keep Rocksmith updated. Just have it connected to the internet (no xbox live account)

regardless, there are different types of Live accounts. one of them is FREE

I have mine running through my Receivers game mode via HDMI. I set the Latency to 80 and that seems to be the best for me

Thought I'd bump this thread.

So, I decided to import this game along with an XBOX 360. I read that the PS3 version had some freezing issues, so that's why I went that route. The price landed on around 300 including shipping. That's the price of a small solid state combo amp where I live. Wife doesn't know, but the wife and I have nice agreement, she doesn't ask me about the price on toys(read guitar gear and other gadgets), and I don't ask her about the price on clothes.

Anyway, I struggled with delay at first. Changed some settings on my sound system, and it got pretty decent. Stereo mode was the way to go for me.

The game is pretty damn good. I find myself picking up the guitar much more often and I play for longer, and I've definitely become a better guitar player in the short week I've had the game.

Signing up for a guitar teacher for me is pointless, as I never know if I have to work overtime, and usually when I come home from work, I'm dead tired, and I just want to sit back with a cigarrette and relax. Usually, I just picked up the guitar, played the same stuff that I knew how to play and so on... After 15-30 minutes, I laid the guitar down. Now I actually have to widen my playing field. I have to play stuff I don't know how to play, which is great. Time flies when I play the game, and suddenly a couple of hours has passed since I picked the guitar up. Most of the songs are songs I never would have thought of playing, but by playing them, I realize that some of the songs are pretty good, which is purely a bonus.

I am up to 22M RSP, level 11, Rocksmith. I have "all" (some I don't like and will never level) the songs leveled, except the new DLC. I've got a handful of songs mastered, mostly the easier ones.

I still have only ever got 1 double encore and unlocked only 1 bonus song. I am going to start concentrating on getting double encores. I am having a little trouble figuring out how to do this. I thought all I needed was 120% of the required event RSP, but I have done that and still do not get an encore, much less a shot at a double.

Eh, I'll keep workin' at it.

The Blue Oyster Cult, Heart, and Pearl Jam DLC, are some pretty cool tunes they've added.

Its the best thing Ive bought in a while. And an easy way to get lost for a few hours. Im working on being looser when I play(talking posture) and Im still not the greatest at switching from a single note passage to chords and back. But I really like how rock smith keeps you on the edge of your comfort zone.

Got most of my favorite songs mastered. Plus a few that just came easy. I am going to tackle Symphony of Destruction Next

Man, I am not good enough to get past most of the leads, on the harder songs. The new 30 lives, in the RR, will help. I just need to settle in and work on 'em.

It is the most intense practice that I have done in a long time, maybe ever.

Nice job. I don't play it as much as I would like. I am only at 8M RSP. I will keep going at it.

Good luck.

For some reason when I play SoD, on the intro, the third power chord in the set of 3 never works for me. I've tried everything I can think of. I can get it maybe half the time, but I know my timing is right. Since I hit the 2nd chord, I know the notes are right, but half the time the third doesn't work for me. I can't think of anything else to try.

The 30 lives in the accelerator was just what I needed to knock out a few I was struggling with. I can easily go through 40 minutes just on one pass of section of a song. I just wish you could level up sections inside of the accelerator

I used to get that alot doing double stops. Ive sinced raised my pickups for non related tone purposes and that fixed the problem. I havent tackled SoD yet though so we will see

I haven't had an issue with it for any other song. Also seems to be SoD. Also, on the chorus, when you hit low e every third string, where they sing just like the pied piper, I miss random notes there and can't figure that out either. Kind of weird.

I'm very tempted to pick this up. I just feel I wouldn't play it too much. My playing time is limited to when the kids go to bed. At that time I cram a lot in. Most of the time I play while catching up TV shows. Not sure I'm ready to invest that time just yet. It seems awesome though!
