Ya, I've been a subscriber to Songsterr's paid membership for about 2 years now. If you tried it before and weren't impressed, try it again! They've made massive leaps and bounds in the features and content.

i dont subscribe to it but it is neat. i mainly use Guitar Pro, but the simplistic aspect of Songsterr is cool

digging thru UG for tabs for GP and dling them is no fun

I think they let you try the paid version free for 30 days. You should do it. Full screen, 5 playback speeds, looping sections, etc. It's great!

They have bends in Rocksmith. As a matter of fact, I am working on the bends challenge right now.

I had a quick shot at the bends and I think it does, eventually. It has dynamic skill levels all through it and my impression from a quick thirty second review of the bends is that it doesn't initially, but does as you progress. So yes, based on my recollection it did. But surprisingly the little tutorial made no reference to half step and full step bends. So I am not sure if they just anticipate that you know the size of the bend? I wil try to find some more time on it tomorrow and confirm for sure if nobody else has. I got a silver medal in bends without too much trouble, and I KNOW that my bends are weak in pitch accuracy.

Loving it.

i dont get why they even have the option to have the low E on top. i should just mimic how reg tabs are

Low E on top mimics how the fretboard is with the notes coming down the pipeline, where low E on bottom mimics looking down at the fretboard.

I think for beginners, I think low E on top is probably going to be easiest but it is backward from the tab they'll use if they ever take it to the next step.

.

It's like when we were kids and we had to pick between reading print and reading cursive because the brain can only process one... :hmm:

It's funny that "tab purists" now hold their nose up to rocksmith standard view like sheet music purists hold their nose up to tab.

It seems like it does. The bends are sort of hard to figure out at first, but once you play it for a bit, you get it.

How does stuff get unlocked? Is it triggered by points or events? Or both?

As you progress through the game it will unlock different stuff. Some songs require different techniques, so they will unlock. I have all of the min games unlocked and have almost finished all of the songs. I have a few events left to play. I don't have all of the guitars and stuff unlocked, but who really cares about the guitars getting unlocked, it's the effects and stuff that I want unlocked. I was hoping that there was a freestyle section to the game, but have not found it yet. It would be nice to use different amps and pedals and just play freestyle.

Just change the amp and press pause during a song or riff repeater and you can play freely until it hurts.
