I was able to play today!!! I got the game last week but I have been so freaking BUSY!

Anyways.... in a word, this is game is FUN!!!

I have the xbox version... I bought [ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002P35JMO"]this adapter[/ame] and I use as a combination with my hdmi... a very unnoticeable lag, no problems with scoring! :D

The only technique I have an issue is Palm Mute... other than that, no problems, good scores, and a couple of encores!

My fingers hurt!!!! I played for 3 hours straight, I repeated a few favorite songs!

One thing I notice... the game DOES NOT give you a wrong/bad score if you play the extra notes of the riff (As long as they are correct) even if the game is not asking for them... Also, easy "power chords" are recognize, like A5 or B5, even if you play the full chord (three strings) instead of the two string "chord" the game is asking...

I was playing "In Bloom" the way I remember playing, with some rhythm accentuation, power chords, and my modified solo, still, I got a great score!

The game is very forgiving and adapts fast to your playing...

Extremely FUN GAME! I will play at least an hour a day...

fwiw, I am playing the game with my Gibson Joe Bonammassa LP; I may need to pull out the Custom, because the LPC on the game is sweet!!!

I apologize if this has been posted already, but it shows that with enough practice while playing you could learn a full song!!!

I picked up the game at Best Buy today, and it's a blast! Haven't had the latency problems other people have reported and I use the HDMI cable. I have the PS3 version, and it is a lot of fun!

If anyone wants to learn theory and how to read music, one of the best learning systems to get is Gibson's Learn & Master Guitar series. It can get a bit dry and I find the main instructor to be beyond dull and boring, but it really is a great course for those who are looking for something more in depth than the usual tab based instruction found on the net. They also have a Blues guitar course and a cool little free app for your smart phone.

Gibson's Learn & Master Guitar | Learn to Play Guitar at Home with DVD Lessons | Acoustic & Electric
Learn Guitar, Piano, Drums, Ballroom Dancing and Painting | DVD Courses | Professional Instruction
Gibson | Learn & Master Guitar Application

I agree. I do own that. I just cant sit still for that long. Plus, its pretty dry.

Since I began learning to play guitar a year and a half ago, using many great resources online, including MLP, I have read that the Gibson Learn & Master guitar is the number 1 rated guitar learning program available. I have always intended on getting that product and at some point I am sure I will. Dry or not Im sure I can learn a ton from it. Theory is one thing I have always struggled with.

I have been playing guitarsmith now for a few hours and the more I play and unlock more features the more I am enjoying it and feel this is going to be a great learning tool for me!!! While I have always enjoyed learning to play songs, I've always focused more on learning technique, scales and learning to get more comfortable, and improving speed and accuracy in getting around on the fretboard and this "game" is a big help with that. It also makes me learn to play without looking down at the fretboard to see where my fingers are and that will be a huge hurdle to get over!

I'm really happy with this program, even more so for all of the technique challenges and guitarcade games that are helping me improve my ability to get around the fretboard better. The songs are an added bonus to me.

IAMA: Rocksmith Developer : IAmA

Open talks with the developers! One thing I picked up on in there is the possibility of using a "Dance Mat" as a foot pedal/controller.

Plus they are going to start releasing DLC every couple of weeks!
