I played rs for about 65 hours last night. There is a bit of a learning curve but its great fun. The riff looper games are great for nailing the songs. I had trouble with some of the more obscure songs so far mostly because ive never heard them so im playing completely by sight.
My favorite that i have at 95% is mean bitch, i just like that song and its not my typical style. So far im just grinding through the songs and i will master them all later, i want to hear them all and unlock everything i can. Im a local headliner now, im kind of a big deal....lol
I haven't tested out amp mode but if there's a permanent lag there like in some menus I'll be pissed! I was really hoping to use this for mostly playing around rather than my bulky amp.I realized last night that my audio lag is really just in the menu screens and amp mode. It's pretty unnoticeable when actually playing. In fact, I've played real venues that have a more distracting slapback issue so let's call it a "feature."
I'm digging the Ducks game and Super Slider. I'm pretty good at sight reading but I do glance at the fretboard when changing positions sometimes, at least until I memorize a song, so this is good for me as a player.

It took me about 4 tries to get it right! For some reason I could not stop playing this song. By the fourth time I was acting so outrageous we we're on the floor laughing. I'm not sure what it is about that song that makes you want to look stupid!I had trouble with that song for some reason. I couldnt get the dm arpeggio correct but it was 1145 last night and shortly before I turned it off

IDK i tried messing with the amp settings but nothing changed in the loading screens but i agree it is depressing.Any way to change the lifeless dry tone in the loading screens? It's so much quieter than the rest of the gameplay, I can hardly hear it. ...not to mention it's well... uninspiring.
A minor thing though. It'd just be nice to have a little OD on it or something.
I wonder what would happen with a pedal in-line? I know changing pickups changes the tone in the game. I'm asking for trouble.

I know during a song if you hold the green button on xbox it will switch from the effects to clean in the middle of the song.
Try holding that down see what happens.
Ya there's a bunch of small things I'd like to see fixed in the next release.I did try that. No dice in the loading screen.
You can assign different sounds to different buttons and load them up in song mode. A "pedalboard" or even a little box that clipped onto your strap would be awesome for this.
Here's another little annoyance - my PS3 controller disconnects during every song (timeout from no use) so when I go to hit X after the song to move forward, I get nothing and have to re-connect the wireless controller first. Lame.
Make sure you check out the mini games, they'll strait up teach you scales.haha! ya, the whole "play 5 on yellow" can be a bit annoying when I'd rather play "D on the A string" but it's a game afterall. I can adjust. Sure would be nice if they worked in some theory though. That would be a very valuable lesson to guitar newbs.

That's not true. It's typically a different octave..sure it will still be correct..but it won't sound the same as the originalWhat string you play the note on is irrelevant as long as you play the right note.
