I realized last night that my audio lag is really just in the menu screens and amp mode. It's pretty unnoticeable when actually playing. In fact, I've played real venues that have a more distracting slapback issue so let's call it a "feature."

I'm digging the Ducks game and Super Slider. I'm pretty good at sight reading but I do glance at the fretboard when changing positions sometimes, at least until I memorize a song, so this is good for me as a player.

I played rs for about 65 hours last night. There is a bit of a learning curve but its great fun. The riff looper games are great for nailing the songs. I had trouble with some of the more obscure songs so far mostly because ive never heard them so im playing completely by sight.

My favorite that i have at 95% is mean bitch, i just like that song and its not my typical style. So far im just grinding through the songs and i will master them all later, i want to hear them all and unlock everything i can. Im a local headliner now, im kind of a big deal....lol

+1 i really like Mean Bitch

I haven't tested out amp mode but if there's a permanent lag there like in some menus I'll be pissed! I was really hoping to use this for mostly playing around rather than my bulky amp.

The mini games are awesome. The scale runner game is truly truly hilariously fun for me because the first thing I was taught and practiced on guitar was the Am scale. I used to just run for low E to high e. This thing stops you on the G string and goes the opposite way 2 notes, then stops and continues to head towards the high e string again all on a really fast timer.

Let's just say I thought I could play the Am scale a lot faster than I really can - a real wake up and humbling

I've never heard of this artist before..

Had a couple of drinks last night and started playing this as it came up in my career mode:

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6VRVCsRDtE]JENNY O. - WELL OK HONEY - YouTube[/ame]

Really, really fun song to play. It's not intense so I was able to put the guitar behind my head for the first time in my life and dance stupidly in front of my girlfriend.

I looked like a total ass but o m g it was funny and fun. The perfect song to look like an idiot when you're playing it. We were laughing hysterically.

edit: LOL I just watched the video for the first time and they dance like idiots too! What is it about that song that makes you not give a F?! HAHAHAHA

Noticed this too. I picked the game up last night, and spent about an hour with it.

I had read through this thread and was expected lag, and I got it...but it seemed only noticeable in menu's. Once an actual song-play started, it really wasn't there.

It took me about 4 tries to get it right! For some reason I could not stop playing this song. By the fourth time I was acting so outrageous we we're on the floor laughing. I'm not sure what it is about that song that makes you want to look stupid!

The first time I heard this song was in season one of weeds, and they used it to show the eldest son working on trapping his gf with pregnancy :laugh2:

Any way to change the lifeless dry tone in the loading screens? It's so much quieter than the rest of the gameplay, I can hardly hear it. ...not to mention it's well... uninspiring.

A minor thing though. It'd just be nice to have a little OD on it or something.

:hmm: I wonder what would happen with a pedal in-line? I know changing pickups changes the tone in the game. I'm asking for trouble. :naughty:

IDK i tried messing with the amp settings but nothing changed in the loading screens but i agree it is depressing.

I know during a song if you hold the green button on xbox it will switch from the effects to clean in the middle of the song.

Try holding that down see what happens.

I did try that. No dice in the loading screen.

You can assign different sounds to different buttons and load them up in song mode. A "pedalboard" or even a little box that clipped onto your strap would be awesome for this.

Here's another little annoyance - my PS3 controller disconnects during every song (timeout from no use) so when I go to hit X after the song to move forward, I get nothing and have to re-connect the wireless controller first. Lame.

Ya there's a bunch of small things I'd like to see fixed in the next release.

I'm going to post them on the RS boards a couple months from now. One major thing for me was string names. I wish they gave us both vs just colors. I can find the b string in a millisecond, but finding the green string pisses me off sometimes. I'm sure it will go away over time but lol

haha! ya, the whole "play 5 on yellow" can be a bit annoying when I'd rather play "D on the A string" but it's a game afterall. I can adjust. Sure would be nice if they worked in some theory though. That would be a very valuable lesson to guitar newbs.

Make sure you check out the mini games, they'll strait up teach you scales.

What string you play the note on is irrelevant as long as you play the right note.

That's not true. It's typically a different octave..sure it will still be correct..but it won't sound the same as the original

Either way, I think saying "5th fret D string" is easier than saying "5th fret blue string". That's our complaint.

I still havent totally committed the colors to memory at least for my fingers yet. the d and g string get a bit convoluted when playing a song still but the riff builder mode is awesome to get past those sticky parts of a song.

Im having a challenge with the slither riff, my timing is whack or something and again it was getting way late to still be playing.
