Tim T here at my gateleg table. Watching baseball. BlueJays vs Phils. I'm writing about R+R , not baseball. Baseball threads die here.R+R always sells. It just keeps on chuggin. Guys and Gals over-driving geetars. A simple drum beat and ATTITUDE!

I was weaned on Classic Rock. I remember hearing Satisfaction and LOVING it. This was in the early 70's. Everywhere you went you heard GREASY HARD ROCK or singersongwriter dirges. I went out and bought my first album in 1976 a Bowie Comp=Changes One. What a summer. Kiss Destroyer . Steve Miller. Fleetwood Mac. Boston. Eagles getting Joe Walsh .

That was ages ago. I was 10 years old. 35 years ago. I can believe it. Many things have happened . I have denounced R+R many times. The GODS. In 1983 I went Metal. I was tired of the dinosaur Rock.I was AMPED on hormones and cheap thrills. Iron Maiden +PriesT+ WitchFinder General+ Motorhead.... ect fueled my HS years. I gave away alot of albums to girls. Spread the wealth. R+R without women is stale. I gave my Super Hot "faux" cousin=Connie. I'm adopted. Tons of albums. She was DEADLY. I used to play with her in the dappled 70's days of yore. We played hide and seek. american Pie played in ther background. I rember the Whisky +Rye line>>>>>

Then at a relative's funeral. The HOT Connie appeared in leather pants and blonde hair. She came up to me and kissed me on the mouth. WOAHHH! My "little" faux cousin had grown into a HOT 80's Rock girl. I gave her alot of Zep bootlegs and Who boots. Also some ACDC. I've always been like that. Spread the wealth. It helped if you were SMOKING HOT:laugh2:

Rock and Roll on a Friday Night

Tim T here at my gateleg table. I'm NOT rocking tonight. I'm TIRED! Believe it or not. When I begin to slur I'm whupped. Feels good. Mania is FANTASTIC. I can ride it for weeks. Then? Boredom. Let me guess more ranting? Lift the needle. Change the record side. I may be "tamed" here in my den. It happens. Baseball relaxes me. I do Yell at nice plays. I can't help it. I grew up on baseball.

I listened to the John Langford piece of Iggy's Raw Power yesterday . I get goosebumps EVERY time I hear that. They interview Rollins,Watt,Ig,,Mick Rock. Great stuff. It is ALL about redemption. Iggy WAY ahead of the times. People confused. Cheezy cover= dripping Blood letters and THE IG. Johnny Marr talks about I Need SomeBody playing on his turntable on a grey December's day.

I also looked at Let It Bleed : Stones in the 60's. Tons of photos. Keef tuning in B+W! I love pictures of Keef tuning? He always looks so serious. Can I tune this thing? Can I write a new tune? Can I score some H? I look at photos of Mick T and Keef dueling. Mick in a cape. Clear guitars.

The MYSTIQUE of R+R! It is eternal. Real Rock shines. Pictures of Chuck B tired ,leaning against a wall. Arms outstretched. EXHAUSTED! R+R is WORK. Where am I? Who am I? The reverb . The A chords. Coiled cables. CHEMICALS!

Cobain was the last "mythic " R+R star. I could care less about his demise. I'm talking about his reluctance. He knew his dream would destroy him. Kurt 'worked" his image. Heroin, bi-sexuality-Courtney=CONFUSION! That is the REAL rock. Mangling personalities. You could go NUTS in public back then. Now,EVERYONE has a cellphone camera poised. The R+R star must now drink healthshakes and do yoga.

What am I talking about?

KISS>HOTGIRLS>Zep bootlegs> some baseball>exhaustion> CHEMICALS and E chords shaken not stirred . Make Pete proud. I love his Schecter tele!

Signing out from Berryadelphia

Sonar sounds good. I can"fake" some blues.

Nice M. I can't play covers. I try then? I forget the structure? I can play maybe 20 songs. They sound MEAN+BAD. I mangle songs.

I said"Nah I'm just kidding."

She then poured me a V8 and LOADED it with pepper. No more headache. No more STRANGE thoughts. No more delusions. V8 cures MY Problems!

Wow Tim, I have the same feelings about the 70's. I didn't go full on metal but I always found redemption in Randy Rhodes when the skies blackened from the stench of Aqua Net and Kip Winger....

This song always strikes me deep in my soul...I love rock and roll in all of it's guises. Thanks for reminding me of days gone by. "I thank the Lord there are people out there like you."

And now I know
Spanish Harlem are not just pretty words to say
I thought I knew
But now I know that rose trees never grow in New York City

Until you've seen this trash can dream come true
You stand at the edge while people run you through
And I thank the Lord there's people out there like you
I thank the Lord there's people out there like you

While Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters
Sons of bankers, sons of lawyers
Turn around and say good morning to the night
For unless they see the sky
But they can't and that is why
They know not if it's dark outside or light

This Broadway's got
It's got a lot of songs to sing
If I knew the tunes I might join in
I'll go my way alone
Grow my own, my own seeds shall be sown in New York City

Subway's no way for a good man to go down
Rich man can ride and the hobo he can drown
And I thank the Lord for the people I have found
I thank the Lord for the people I have found

Dh Right on. Davey Johnston gets no props? He is tasty. I love Elton. I love catchy music. Crocodile Rock was always playing when Jen,my boyhood crush, and I would swim in our baby pool.
You can't kill Rock 'N' Roll.
Tazz I believe that. It keeps rearing it's ugly head.

Matt I don't know how old you are? I grew up in the 70's ROCK RULED! It was EVERYWHERE! Concerts were half female. I had 10 garage bands in my neighborhood. I would walk from garage to garage listening to CRAP guitar. It was glorious. Now, I see guys being driven by their women blaring RAP! YO YO WHAt's UP? It makes me sad.

I grew up in the 70's ROCK RULED! It was EVERYWHERE!

The first time I ever heard Fame by Bowie it was blaring out a teenage neighbor's window. I was 9, 1975. I used to climb a tree in my back yard with my transistor radio to be able to get the local AM radio station. Sitting in my crook is where I first heard Ballroom Blitz and Bohemian Rhapsody. Those were life changers for me.

I also remember hearing Green Manilishi by Judas Priest played on FM after midnight in 1979 or so.
