Apparently Richard Gere's guitar collection (who knew?) is up for auction including Albert King's '58 flying V and a '60 Burst. What a waste for these to have been in his possession all these years

I wonder if he kept them near his collection of gerbils :hmm:

This was 10 years ago.
The hint is the copyright on the photo...
Snooze, you lose.
Damn, you're right! I wonder why Premier Guitar is re-running all these old articles on their website right now? They must be hurting for content. (I thought the estimates of the value of the guitars seemed low )

Sorry - Nevermind!!!

"Had" apparently 10 years ago - I was duped by a 10 year old article being reposted by Premier Guitar on their site. I wonder who acquired it in the auction 10 years ago. The estimated value in the article was $90,000 in 2011 - this is sure to me almost $1M guitar today I would think given the rarity of the original V's and Explorers.

anybody's 58 V in original condition is worth upwards of 200K these days.

Albert King's first V? homey jeebus.

I know that Dan Erlewine rebuilt one of his V's that was heavily modified. But I don't think that one is it.

perhaps the one on the left?
