The reverb does nothing when I press the footswitch but the vibrato does. I remember the reverb working like six months ago. Does the reverb go out on these amps very often? Is it probably my switch ? I haven't moved my amp from the spot it's in the last year.

I'll take a look but I don't really know what to look for. I am actually not very tech savvy with things like this.

All of the tanks I have fixed have the same problems. Its always one or both of the two wires coming loose from the vibrations. Some are soldered and some just have the wires pushed into a V type pinch connector and the wires wear then break. Pull the tank and have a look. First make sure its plugged into the amp all the way though.

Hey Joe, whats up bro^^^

Dirty... Yah, there will be an in and out for the tank and it will likely lead to the chassis. They are just like an RCA connection just push in... Think it should be the same. If the tank is gone, I have a few extra vintage gibbs Reverb tanks. If you are in a pinch.. Pm me.

Best regards

Check the RCA cables on the back of the amp and the connections in the reverb tank bag. I've had a couple just fail on me in the last 6 years, so if the connects are good, it's probably dead, easy replacement though, no tech needed.

Just disconnect your pedal and turn the reverb dial up some and see if you have reverb. Without the pedal you should have reverb and no tremolo. If that's the case it is just your pedal.

You can have reverb without having the pedal plugged in and stomped ?

Come on guys - these are tube amps so how about checking the tube before chasing a bunch of connectors around. The easiest way to check is to swap the vibrato and reverb tubes (they are right next to each other).

While looking at the back of the amp, and counting from the left - swap the 6th (Vibrato) and 7th (Reverb) tubes. If you do that and Reverb works and Vibrato doesn't - go spend $13 on a tube.

PS - always unplug when swapping the tubes and remember - they might be a little hot!

Do you have to use a screwdriver to get these tubes out?

Okay! Thanks for the help guys. I unplugged my pedal and the reverb works! I guess I need a new pedal. I wonder if I ruined my pedal somehow when I used it as my footswitch for my fog machine.

Oops, double-post again - so I guess I'll use it to add, that, in most cases, the tube would be a good first thing to check, but in this case, those RCA connectors would be the first thing I'd do - they've come loose on mine a couple of times, and killed the reverb - and the footswitch, as you've found. Just a quirk of the Twin, I guess. The reverb driver itself is not doing much, and is not that prone to breaking down. It's good to check it now and again, all the same.

Maybe check inside the footswitch for a broken connection, somewhere - see if there are any loose wires? Hope you get it working!
