Strats… boooo. I know, this is a Les Paul forum. I was really NOT into Strats for a good 10-15 years for two reasons:
1) I came full circle back to Les Pauls and realized these are the tones I prefer; they do what I want.
2) Strats are everywhere. Everywhere you go someone’s playing a strat and they all sound alike for the most part
I used to hate going to friends houses and having to play their Strats at jams. Never sounded like me, tone with no balls, and f’ing Strat people tend to always play with stupid low action with strings fretting out.
Well, it was bound to happen… came upon a used AVRI 62 neck thst had been refretted with big wire, plays perfect. 7.25“ radius doesn’t even bother me. Fit it to a nice USACG/MJT body in a gorgeous Sonic Blue nitro. Dug up a set of pre 98 Fender 57/62 pickups From the parts cabinet. Put it all together with other bits of Fender pieces and, well, here it is… the first Strat I actually don’t hate. I might actually even kinda dig it,
