I was checking out a guitar online and the description of it was that it was a 1960 Gibson les paul standard reissue. On closer inspection I noticed it had a CS 201559 serial number and a lot of none historic appointments.
So my question is what sort of reissue is this.
I guess it not a historic reissue by the look of it and the serial #.

I'm hopeless with computers and posting links. The guitar in question is on the zzounds website and is listed a $3399 from memory. It's not in stock but says coming soon.
Sorry I would post the link if I knew how.

Not a Historic Reissue, just a CS Standard. Sharp looking though.

Not sure why they are calling it a "Reissue".. But it is a nice looking Les Paul... But I would still buy used..

They say its built just like a 60. Just the double thick neck binding and nibs invalidates that claim.

Even less historically accurate than the regular Custom Shop reissues, but yes, that is a custom shop reissue.

The spec sheet doesn't match the guitar pictured. Makes me wonder if it has the 2013 upgrades. Does the CS 201559 serial# identify a 2012 model or 20th anniversary model.

I think they just screwed up and put the wrong guitar. For one thing, Sperzals on a 1960 makes no sense if you are not going to market it as such.

I think they have the wrong photo for the guitar listed. Notice it also says Kluson deluxe double band tuners, yet the guitar pictured has Sperzel locking tuners. Several things in the specs don't jibe with the photo.
Just an observation........

Sorry, just noticed dangerdog caught these items before I did!

The guitar is accurate..the specs are not.

Look up the SKU - it is clearly a CS standard with 60s thin neck. They copied the 60 VOS specs.

Place cracks me up. When they first advertised these..I called them on it, about a month ago. They swore they were correct on specs. Said fine..I'll take one then. Next day I was put in backorder. Graciousl6 offered to allow then to replace my order with a 60 VOS and they declined. Said VOS are built with better materials.

So 3 days ago I see American Music Supply has the exact serial number in stock..ring them up, still on backorder...they do not share inventory/warehouse with anyone else. Yet today oddly they both claim stock of the same guitar serial number...with American Music Supply showing the right specs.

Wanna bet Zzounds fails to deliver on the specs as promised. Unless its new for 2014, no way the specs are right...and no way gibson sells a "red" R0 for half price.
