It's a 95 Orville I picked up and I don't think nibs are that common on them. But there is an obvious color change and some have a little shelf for lack of a better word.
I guess it doesn't matter really if they were there because they would be gone now.
Definitely no nibs on that fret job. I had my '73 Custom re-fretted after they were gone and the nibs were in place when I got her back. Cost a bit more, but worth it to me.
Definite refret with nibs destroyed. Refrets in most cases mean the nibs are destroyed & not replaced (although they can be for a price).
This is pretty normal practice & no big deal IMHO. Nibs are what I would consider cosmetic only & a throwback from yesteryear because that was the way they did things back in the '50's.
FWIW, I actually like the vibe of a good refret. Looks cool & shows the guitar was played a lot, which usually means it is a good guitar...................pretty important I would think.
