Man, those damn animals. can't recount how many times a pack of wolves distorted a mission. :laugh2:

A cougar killed my horse, I killed the cougar and while I was skinning it, a pack of those damn wolves showed up and started chewing on me. I hate their guts with a passion. :laugh2:

I thought the bears, cougars, and wolves were pretty nasty until I got the add-on pack with the tomahawk. Then it got too easy. Even without a tomahawk, you can always run back to the Marsden ranch (a trick I have used quite a few times to escape being clawed to death).

If you want to play against some really nasty animals (abominations), try the Deathclaws in Fallout New Vegas. Leave your companions at home, and enter the Quarry with just a Gobi Campaign rifle and a few energy weapons. Keep your VATS off. Kill every last creature. Btw, the Dead Wind Cavern campaign is nothing compared to the quarry. This is the most stressful man vs. animal campaign you will find in any hd console game.

Finished the story-mode 2x. Never made it to 100% completion though.

Bring on RDR 2!!!

well red dead was a sort of a sequel so it would be the 3rd game :thumb:

Red Dead Revolver - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

revolver wasn't nearly as good but still was a fun game way back when, Rockstar SD isn't very speedy about making games so I wouldn't expect another Red Dead title for a while.

I'm sure there will be a successor but as to when is uncertain.

The only thing it was was time consuming...if you know your way around the Quarry, that is. Enough ammo for the Gobi sniper rifle and it's all over for mama and papa Deathclaw and family.

...but of course DCs spawn outside the Quarry, don't they? :laugh2:

Anyway, RDR was well done. I didn't like the zombie add-on only because zombies scare the living poo out of me :laugh2:, but I got throught it.

I was absolutely blown away by the characters and storyline in this game. If you love westerns there is nothing that comes even remotely close to this. John Marston is an excellent character and I actually felt a sense of emotional investment at the end of the game. Even my girlfriend, who usually could care less about my juvenile hobby, was engrossed by the storyline and had to see how it ended. I absolutely loved it!!!

"Some trees flourish, others die. Some cattle grow strong, others are taken by wolves. Some men are born rich enough and dumb enough to enjoy their lives. Ain't nothing fair. You know that." - John Marston

Just picked this up, now $20 at Walmart.

Need to finish my THIRD play through of Fallout New Vegas first though. I was not overly impressed with LA Noire, hopefully RDR is stronger.

It is. But complete the little side missions like master hunter and treasure while you're doing the campaign. After I finished the storyline I tried the master hunter. But after failing to kill those damn cougars with a knife I kinda bugged out.
I may have some bounty hunter tasks left.

The trick is throwing knives. The game doesn't care whether you stab em with the Bowie knife or the throwing knives, and the latter is much easier.

What!? I'm gonna have to snatch that up

L.A.N. isn't for everybody... It is really weird, but I still love the hell out of that game. Definitely one of the more original releases I have played lately.

No way.
Since band practice is cancelled and I'm just procrastinating anyway. I guess it's time to fire up the xbox. :D

Hmm, killed me a dozen cougars with the throwing knife. So far only one counted.

LA Noire is a beautiful game, my only complaint is that it is a bit one-tracked. I figured out pretty quickly who that first major villain was, but had to go through the motions anyway. Now part way through the Vice series I kinda feel like I am just making a judgement call whether the person is telling the truth or not and letting the cards fall from there. But they did a truly magnificent job on the landscape etc. Just not as open as I would have liked.

Might pick it up tomorrow (I am very late to the party, I know). Anyone still play on multiplayer on Xbox live? Even if its died down, I'll still probably love the "free roam" single player.

Hows the story? I hear its good, and what other things are there to do?

I got the Legend of the West:thumb:

With the cougars I used that Dead eye, was it called. The thing that slows down time. That's how I killed the cougars.

$20 at Walmart in Canada. I have no idea if that applies in the U.S. too. I have no reason to think not, but please do not drive 50 miles and then bitch me out if it is not there. :)

I just shot one, and then chased it while swinging my knife. Took some time to corner it, but it wasn't too hard.

I suck at hunting. I don't know how many horses I lost. :)

RDR a good atmospheric game with a proper story and great scenery, I was surprised how attached to it I was at the end. I found some of the missions a bit repetitive, like when doing a bounty hunt and you just know that about 20 people are gonna ride up from nowhere and need to be gunned down. While a guns and horses fan, I ain't got any interest in zombies so didn't do the undead thing.
