Could not be more excited for this game, set to release Spring 2018 :dude: The first Red Dead is my all time favorite video game. Judging from the trailer, it looks like they've added a few interesting elements (alligators, bows and arrows)

I hope the leap from RDR 1 to RDR 2 is as big or greater than the leap from GTA IV to GTA V. If it is, we're in for something magical...

... which I won't get to play unless it comes out on the PC. Lol.

Looks cool. The first game was really good.

..the descending D minor scale motif at :47 sounds just like Tron 2 soundtrack, and the churchbell ringing at :29 looks (almost?) exactly like the shot in the newest Farcry trailer,..which was distracting.

But all in all it looks pretty cool.

Looks we might gain the ability to dual wield pistols, that would come in handy...

I walked up to game stop months ago and saw a poster touting preorders. I basically pulled it my wallet and threw it at the guy. I can't wait, if we get as good and as big of a game as RDR I'll be happy, if it's gtav level good I might quit my job and game for a month before drifting into homelessness.

RDR was one of the most perfect games ever. A very tough act to follow-- but I have faith in Rockstar. They take their time and aren't likely to release a rushed turd like Mass Effect Andromeda.

I agree, on all accounts.

RDR is just an absolutely stellar game, easily in my top 10 of all time.
I can't wait for RDR2.

Andromeda was incredibly weak.
It completely destroyed my hopes for a post Shepard Mass Effect legacy.
I doubt that I'll ever bother with another Mass Effect, and that's not something I ever dreamt I'd say.

Looks like I need to get a PS4 in the near future.
RDR is also one of my favorite games of all times.

@Mal. If the music is as good as in the first RDR...
It had a real Ennio Morricone vibe

Can't wait. The only bad part of RDR1 was when Marston died in the last part and his kid taking over as main character. What an asshole that was.

Games like this are like a good book you've read or movie you watched. Only you actively participate in it. I don't care about multiplayer or stuff like that with games like these.

There are video games I have fond memories of just like with a good book.

Sorry to all who haven't played this yet. But if you haven't played this great game by this time you're a loser and deserve to die.

yeah, that ending was weak. Not just because he's a beloved character, but because Jack sucks, and it's lame that you can't get to use half the outfits until after John dies, whats the point really once you've completed the game?

One thing I thought the first game could use is the ability to dual wield, I really hope they are putting that into this game. I also didn't like that anytime you slipped into water, you automatically died. The first trailer showed us someone canoeing, hopefully they've added the ability to swim too. Another thing I'd like to see them add is a more powerful handgun, like a Walker Colt. For all the pistols and revolvers you can get in that game, the differences aren't all that great between some of them. And the so-called "Hi Power" model isn't really all that powerful

No, it was necessary to end it that way; anything else would have been a cop-out. Ultimately there was no redemption for Marston, and he could never escape his past. A Butch and Sundance end. I admire R*'s production team for having the guts to do it, even under corporate pressure for a "happy ending."*

(It also sets up another of those delightful little touches- the end credits only rolling after the epilogue disguised as a side mission)

*The suits wanted post-story gameplay; the writers satisfied them by inventing Jack, who hadn't existed up until that point and the Government was only holding John's wife. But the addition of those 3rd-act father-son scenes, and the fact that Jack does exactly what John didn't want for him and follows in the Way of the Gun, wound up adding poignancy to the tale.

Playing as Jack Marston wouldn't have been a problem if Jack hadn't sucked. He looked and sounded like a dork.

I'd like it if this game ended the same way, except it's John Marston who kills Arthur Morgan and afterwards you play as John.

John had to die. It was one of the most impactul moments in video game storytelling. A happy ending would have been lame

They should've ended it with his death, continuing as Jack was lame
