I am putting a tele together and am lost on pickups. In my Strat I have Duncan SSL1s. I love the sound but don't think I want the same in a tele. I have been looking at the area T from Dimarzio. I am 100% clueless where to turn. I would prefer to buy them From Sweetwater, whatever I get. I play country and blues 99% of the time. Someone just tell me what to buy lol. I don't want to spend much over a couple hundred bucks but if I could get something good cheaper I am all about a deal....... anyone?

I really like my set of Fender vintage 64's. The tele is the only guitar I ever take to play out and it covers just about everything.

I haven't heard Fender Noiseless pickups in 20 years but fuck them just the same!

:)

But I Like the "original" '52 types.
So I would buy Fender's '52 Reissue's if they still exist.
Or the Seymour Duncan's Vintage pups for Tele.
Or their Vintage set.
They would fit your style perfectly.
And when pushed to distort with the right tube amp they sound great.
Think Led Zep I and II.
Anyway, have a look at what they have to offer:

They also have tone samples on all of their pups.
If you want to cut single-coil noise,
have a look and listen to "Vintage Stack Tele – set "

Oh, and also, fuck Fender Noiseless pickups.

:laugh2:

Sweetwater will sell you a pair of Original Vintage Fender Tele pups for $86. Clean and clear.
If you want no hum, then I bet any of those others are OK.
I prefer the hum.

My two current favorites:
Cavalier Lion King/Nashville Lion set (although they have several options for the same price)
Fender Pure Vintage 64 set

Those are both really good pickups for not a lot of money. I want to say the Cavaliers run around $120 for the set. The Fenders are currently around $85 on Amazon. The only note on the Fender set is is that it's not hum-cancelling in the middle position. But otherwise they're really great pickups.
