Guess I'm not the only one who's had a love affair with these guitars over the years ;)

What's not to love? That one is clean as a whistle too! Kinda wish you wouldn't have pulled the covers off the PAF's but to each his own.

I've built a small stable of 60's SG's but my two favorites would be my 62 Ebony Block which like yours is also crazy clean and my main player which is an early 65 thats all 64 spec.

The 62:

And the Early 65 with all 64 Specs (the case is to the 62, I was too lazy to swicth them lol)

I'm sort of an eye for an eye type of person.....if I were you I'd still be looking for that DICK, guitar tech that stole your PAFs and told you it was a "service charge."

If he's dead go to his grave and toast him by pouring some nice Bourbon on his grave....after it passes through your kidneys first!

I have had one of those too - It is so sad that there are so many assholes out there trying to rip you off. I hope they are hit hard by guitar karma.

He's alive and well, Mertzy! LOL. Googled him. Still has a small shop (somewhere else) and posts his own videos playing Jazz guitar on Youtube. I'll leave it to the Guitar Gods to dole out whatever Karmic punishment they see fit... if they haven't already :)

@Kevin James -- LOVE that '65! Wow! Great wood. Looks like a killer player.

Not a bad little rig, huh? :) The Real-Deal 1961 SG/LP with Suhr Badger 18 and Boogie Thiele Cab / EV 12L. Simple, pure, classic... perfect.

Awesome story man! And this sg looks just absolutely killer! I haven't had such sell guitars you just should not stories ( yet) but I can kinda share the same feeling about my 1971 Les Paul Custom. I mean when I saw the ad for it. My heart stopped for a second. I was the first to call and I was the first one to try it. And I got it. My dream guitar. Thank you for this story. I hope that this story will remind me and keep me away from doing such insane thing and sell it off . Cheers! :thumb:

Couple more killer pics. The '61 SG/LP LOVES the vintage crunch of the Red Jones! WOW!

Great story, I had a similar one with my below '64 335. I've wanted it since the early 90s and my wife let me cash in some stock to get it about 8 years ago.

While I am at it here are my other SGs (L to R - '64 std, '63 SG/LP Jr, '63 Special, '60 TV and '61 special reissue).
