Randy emailed me.

"Hi Derek,

The 100W AFD will be a couple months. Tonally is not a lot different from the Daisycutter, but I have to decide on chassis size, parts, other options.
I am planning to offer it for ~$950 without head cab, or tubes. So it would be about $1250 with head cab/tubes. Still pretty reasonable for what it is.

I will have one option on this amp that Slash's SIR amp didn't have, and that would be a switch to convert to standard 1959 Plexi ('68 spec, 12000 series).

btw, some knob likes to put an old prototype pic up. I think it is on the mlp forum. Maybe you know the pic. It annoying the pic gets posted, and is just an ugly protoype that has no bearing on what I am doing now.

Thanks - Randy
"

Sounds pretty cool.

My 50 watt Traynor is so loud it's uncomfortable. I can't imagine what 100 watts would do. Why would anyone need an amp with that much power? All large venues use PA systems. In any case, it's must be one Hell of an amp!

50watters and 100watters are very similar in actual volume output. the 100watters just have more headroom and a bit more bottom end.

People want 100w.

I feel like I probably should have got a 14w Phaez instead of the 18w.

I remember in the 70's we shunned tube amps because you could buy monster SS amps like the Sunn Coliseum. Now we can't seem to find them small enough.

Mark, I'm impatiently waiting for the Fed Ex truck to drop my new speakers!

I think its a little like owning a car that can do 160mph. Pretty much useless in everyday life. But it has an indisputable woody factor.

I've had both 50 and 100w marshalls and honestly I found the 2203 to be louder but just because the delivery is nowhere near as smooth as my 100w jubillee which has incredible depth and warmth.

I'm curous about how this amp wants to be, it will have the real mods that the Slash amp got??? his amps are clone circuits or they got changes??? what about the components??? I'm ansious to hear some clips :) when it will be finished aproximately???

I could be interested in a low wattage version, I'm looking for a marshall style amp with some blues/classic rock/hard rock versatility.

I've been looking for a webside from Phaez but I didn't find nothing, he have anything???

his 14 watt daisycutters do all of that. i was a bit skeptic b/c most of the clips of them are of high gain but they clean up nice to do some relatively clean blues up into cranked marshall high gain tones.

he also doesnt have a website. he does his "advertising" on e-bay his name is something like ontariomaximus. here is his youtube page: YouTube - ontariomaximus's Channel

i may be interested in selling my daisycutter if i cant get the money to fund a phaez 50 watt amp. i dont really want to sell it, i really am starting to like the amp. its quiet enough to run cranked and still be able to keep the household happy. really good and worth the prices he sells them at.

There's 50w Phaez amps on Ebay from time to time.

How much are you going to ask for that Daisycutter?

$310 + shipping. its basically new im not 100% sure i want to sell it seeing i rather sell my vht 60 watter since ill have no use for it + i can pocket the extra cash. even selling my vht cab will help more. this amp is growing on me and i have some plans for its head cab + a matching 1x12 with a scumback speaker. if i sell this now ill probably end up buying another with a loop when i can restock the wallet.

The VHT will bring more cash. I'd hang on to that Phaez.
