Just checked Ebay and the used ones are all priced between $2400 and $2700, looks like. $2300 for a minty R8 w/ all case candy would be a great deal but I don't think it's typical.

Mostly they sell right at $2500.

They are not on ebay for 2300 or so... 2500 is average.

Closed sale $2,250.00
Item number: 320666001259

Closed sale $2,399.00
Item number: 250782756530

No offers listed at $2595.00
Item number: 250789323597

So I would say those would count... the guy asked what are selling for, not listed at! The next one on the list sold for $2895.00... so yes they are selling for around $2300ish! "I THINK" the price on ebay kind of goes by the location, meaning that if you wanted something and it was close, you would most likely pay more to get it now... but if you can wait, and shop, you can pick them up for around $2300 or so! SO cap217 or should I just call you Einstein... you're right and I'm wrong...

I see them listed on craigslist from time to time for $2000-2300 or so.
My dumb ass passed on one last year at $1750!
Hardrivr is spot on.

Yup, I'm afraid that the days of the $2k (and under) R8 are over for now. $2300+ sounds more like it these days. Your price of $2.5 seems a bit high for a plaintop unless it is a particularly nice one or unusual in some way.

Thanks , confirms what I was thinking , about $200 over the going rate . Seems silly for me to jump on it especially around tax time when others could be doing quick sales . Nothing special about the guitar , plain old plain top and a bit over 9 lb.'s .
