2004 used aniline dies...

Turns out you're right. However, the information I've been able to dig up implies that the dye color wasn't the same, but I can't get any kind of original source information so even that can't be trusted. In 2013 they began using that deeper red color, which changed again in 2015 on the THs to a deeper brown color. But it seems even that's not consistent. Yet it seems the color wasn't always uniform and they changed things depending on the top. Given all that I'll delete my prior post out of concern it's totally wrong and will lead the OP down the wrong path. Don't want that.

Tbh he seems to be a top guy, patiently responding to my numerous enquiries and sending me pictures .
He's not the original owner just a fairly affluent guy who fancied a nice LP but decided he's more of a single coil guy.
I'm trading my headstock repair 2001 deluxe gold top towards it as he recons it'll suit his style more..... Thanks for all the help and support guys. I've never bought a guitar this expensive before so it's quite a leap for me.

Those inlays appear to be 2012 ~ 2014.....2004 inlays are different....

If your OK with some missing things and a wrong case it looks fine to me....

I'll let you in on a secrete.....that case is way better than the brown one anyway!
