Hey guys need help. I’m looking at a very clean 2016 R7 from a shop which is asking $5200 Canadian dollars which is about $3850US. Is this way too much or are they still getting that secondhand? Seems a little steep, thoughts? Thanks in advance

People are reaching.
Either they think you are unemployed, getting that extra $600 a week, or they are hurting for business/cash and trying to cash out.
Either way, TOO MUCH.
Put up a WTB ad here and I`m sure one will pop up under $3K.
In fact I`m pretty sure there is at least one here now for trade that would probably be for sale under $3K.

No affiliation, but they are there if you look.

I've noticed their pricing has been slowly creeping up over the past year. Personally I'm glad as they were getting extremely cheap IMO. As for your price I think you'll find a nice one for less listening to our forum brothers.

If you're willing to go older, keep an eye on the classifieds here and on Reverb and you should be able to get one under $2500.
Thanks but I’m after 2013 onwards mainly because I like the color better!

Take a look here, these arent R7's but they are 50's spec LP's at a better price than you're quoting:

I haven't seen R7 les pals on eBay in ages so I don't know! Aren't they the best? I watch eBay 24/7/365 and none! There was a guy a few months ago trying to sell his for $6000 because he was famous but usually they were under $3k auction price, I'd get one!

It’s counter intuitive in a lot of ways but people are spending money right now. The market is active and prices have risen.

I had a mint 57 Gold top - Lee Roy Parnell with the Ellis pickups, when I tried to sell it, I wasn't able to get even close to 3K and the pickups are worth ~500 alone.

Lots of crazy prices the last 6 months, but not much is moving.

Here's one you should get if he'll ship to Canada. Even if you pay for overnight service, you're still at 4k after the exchange.

Na I’m in Australia Tim, so I often look in Canada as our dollar value is similar. I would probably buy that one but he’s not responding to my messages. Mightn’t want to ship it to Oz maybe! It does look a good buy even after conversion, shipping and customs fees.

Too much. Good luck in finding an affordable R7!
