R7 Goldtop lefty - reservations

Hi - seen this on ebay

2010 GIBSON LES PAUL 1957 CUSTOM SHOP 57 HISTORIC R7 VOS ~ LEFTY | eBay

and lovely though it is, and perhaps its me being a numpty, but why would the serial no. be covered, (I don't know the rules of selling such an item on the bay) and why are the pickguard/switch cover/pick up surrounds white and not cream? And the toggle - a little too much yellow? lol

Just wanted to get some opinions before I went for it. thanks

Sure looks genuine to me. Seller is covering serial number to protect the buyer and to prevent image theft. Seller has 100% positive feedback. Cool looking fret board!!! Go for it

The plastic is cream. It's just overexposed in the photo. That's a great weight for an R7. Price wise I wouldn't call it a bargain,but if your looking for a lefty R7, i think you'll be hard pressed to find one nicer

It looks good LA! There is also another on the 'Bay' being sold by cwh1 (Chris Harris). He's great to deal with and well known on here. I've bought a Historic from him, Frails has bought from him, and many, many other have as well. His pictures are excellent and fun to look at.

hey thanks for this barker, looks nice. always a slight worry with ebay, the seller, you know, with such a purchase.

The seller is known to be legit. As for covering the serial number, I've heard that low lifes will
report a guitar as stolen, using the serial number seen in an eBay ad, and soon the cops are harrassing a legit seller, because some dirt bag half way around the world is trying to make trouble. A few years ago, I was selling a lefty R9 darkburst on eBay, and someone hijacked the images, and tried to pass the guitar off as their own. You can never be too carefull as a buyer or a seller.
