When did Gibson start to do this with their pickups?

I've recently sold the 490 and 498 from a 1992 Les Paul Custom, and the buyer asked whether my pickups have the logo engraving on the back. They don't. I let them know that Gibson wasn't doing that yet in 1992.

But does anyone know when Gibson started to do that with their pickups? I could let the buyer know to give them some reassurance.

Think it was 93, when they started the custom shop.
So the 'Gibson USA' became the factory floor operation.

Pickups with an engraved inscription Gibson USA appeared in the fall of 1991. At the same time, the Gibson LP Standard changed its logo from Norlin's to the present one.

Good to know. Thanks!

That would mean that the pickups in my 1992 LPC were stock from before that started.
