....on a new Marshall DSL15 head.
Got it for $385 shipped on the bay ,so I figured I couldn't pass it up.
Let y'all know what I think when it shows up. I'll be looking to run it primarily thru an Egnater 112x 30watt cab for the house and small gigs.

wondering if you got the amp and what your thoughts are if you have it.

I had a DSL100H and the new DSL's are sweet. If you are after the Marshall tone, you can get plexi-like tones and ripping high gain. They are nice amps...congrats!!!

I've got it.
Sounds pretty damn good, tho the gain is over the top being its just clean and OD2.
So I'm messing with tubes to try and tame it some.
Other than that its totally loud enough to gig with, has a nice big tone thru an Egnater 112, I'm sure with a 2-12 or4-12 it would be even bigger.
The deep switch helps with the 112 cab.
In a perfect world I'd like to mod the od2 to sound like the original od1 and the clean to be like the original crunch modes on the UK made DSLs.
But if ya like real 80s hotrodded tones,it's there in spades.

how is it for running pedals? I know it does not have an effects loop. I like to use a chorus and a delay on occasion. I'm weighing between getting the Marshal or a Tubemeister 18. Unfortunately no one has the DSL here and I cant compare the two myself.

For those kinda pedals ya gonna want a loop.

I'd be interested to hear your impression of the Tubemeister 18, if you get it.

I've played it several times at two different music stores and I really like it. I tried a couple of PRS SE's with it and an Ibanez AR series with super 58's in it at one store, then tried several Les Paul's with it at another store. Both times it sounded great. Had a decent clean and the distortion was really good. It could hit both classic and heavy sounds. It was very loud too. One of the things I really liked was the power soak on it. You could push the tubes but not blow your ears out in the process with the lower setting. For what I am looking for I think it will be great. But everyone has a sound they are looking for and taste is very subjective. So hopefully within a month I will have one. :thumb:
