Preferred color on worn brown/red studio?

Other than as a matter of personal preference, what seems to be the preferred color on the Gibson Les Paul Studio Faded - worn brown or worn red?

It is hard to tell from the pictures and I have only seen the brown one in person, which was quite nice.

I am thinking that the brown one is more traditional looking and also the preferred color among the vast majority of owners, but I'm not sure which one actually is the preferred color, in general.

Any feedback is appreciated, objective or subjective.

Thanks in advance.

I like the worn brown better.

The red one is just too red for me.

Brown, red, doesn't matter. Paint it!

I kinda miss this guitar, ended up trading her for an Egnater Rebel 20 head.

I like them both as long as they are all mahogany. The new ones with the maple caps may give you a different/better? sound but in the faded colors I like the grain of the mahogany better.

I use to own this one but had to sell it to help pay for my Bonamassa studio.:(

I prefer Red, but both look good with cream rings/guard/poker chip/knobs.

Obviously you need to play them and see which one feels and sounds the best. There is a great variation between individual guitars on this model. For my money, the red is the classic color...

I appreciate the pictures and hope some more get posted. I can see that there is quite a bit of difference in the grain between the two worn brown ones, one being very straight grained and the other having some differentiation in the grain - both beautiful.

I also like the worn red and will appreciate any further pictures that are posted.

Seems like everyone likes or liked their worn studios. I have an Epi 1960 Tribute Standard with the sixties neck and 57 pickups, the cherry burst one honoring the life of Les Paul. It sounds great so I decided to buy one of these worn Gibsons.

As soon as I make my decision on the color I'm going to order one, probably later today. I used to have a Faded SG Gibson but it was stolen, much to my displeasure.

So this new purchase will make me a Gibson owner again. It should sound good thru my Peavey 6505+ 112 combo or my Fender Super Champ XD. I also have a Blackheart Little Giant, modified with a variable voltage regulator hooked up to an Epi So. Cal. four by twelve cab. I also have a few other good tube amps and some other decent guitars, including Fenders and an expecially nice Ibanez SZ320 heavy mahogany gold top, non pointy-ish dual humbucker guitar that has a very Les Paul type tone.

It will be good to own a nice Gibson again.

I need to get this color choice resolved as soon as possible.

Thanks for the continuing input.

Well i've never seen the red one in person, but if i compare pictures i much prefer the brown color. It was the only color they had in the shop here so i was forced to take it :naughty: Got some reflectors on it now...

Mine has the maple cap on it. It's a 2010 model.

Edit: Nevermind... The maple caps dident start untill 2011, so i've got a mahogany cap on it. My bad, time to go to bed :laugh2:

Mine's the brown mahogany cap (2010) which I like, but the red is beautiful in person too.

They're really good guitars I think. I like their sound and playability. The Burstbucker Pro pickups sound pretty cool to me. I have some other guitars and there are a variety of sounds, depending on chambered bodys, pickups, what year for what features etc.

I usually reach for my Studio faded because it's versatile and sounds great for a variety of tones I'm after both clean and distorted. My SG is a totally different sound.

Tonight's job I'm using a Tele.
