My '93 Studio, which I picked up last month. I'm betting this is 'natural' wear. Interestingly, most of the belt buckle rash is on the switch cover rather than the body itself...

Not mine, but a friend's guitar that I've worked on and played many times. The wear under the strings is as deep as the pickup rings!

Can I get away with a guitar post not related to Les Pauls?

In july 1986 when I was 6 months old, my grandfather passed away. He was a jazz guitarist gigging around Norway and Sweden in the '60s and '70s. He was very passionate about music. My mother keeps telling me how much fun they all had singing along when he played his guitars when they were kids.

My uncle passed my grandfathers favorite guitar down to me about a year ago. I feel very honored.

It's a '65 Guild Starfire IV semi. Quite well kept but it has a few dings and scratches here and there and a lot of checking (not so visible on these cell phone pics. I'm at a friends house jammin'). What you would expect on a 50 year old guitar. But the main thing is that it is very comfortable to play and it has a very rich and powerful semi hollow tone. Very responsive.

He had the pickguard custom made bearing his name.
