What pedals are good for post-rock type stuff? That is to say, ambience, drones, lots of sonic details drenched in immense amounts of distortion, volume, and/or reverb that can contribute to the atmosphere or dynamics.

I'm considering Eventide's Space, but that's extremely expensive, so I'm leaving that for later.

I haven't been on here in forever, so I don't remember whether there was a lot of people here familiar with the genre, so here are just a few examples:

I saw Godspeed You! Black Emperor live the other day, and I did get some photographs of their setup, but I don't recognize a good chunk of these pedals, anyway (or read the labels on some of them, due to the picture quality).

I don't recognize much of those pedals. Check out WalrusAudio, I hope to one day own the Janus Fuzz. :fingersx:

The pink two-footswitcher is a F!ck overdrive from smallsound/bigsound
I see at least two Fairfield Circuitry pedals
At least two Klon KTRs
Top board looks like it has a Death By Audio pedal (delay?) and a Zvex Seek-pedal (Wah, Trem or something) and an analog big box Maxon delay

The big red one with white knobs and artwork is that Diamond or Empress multi-thingy.

(I'm just assuming you can read all the Malekko, Catalinbread and EQD labelling well enough on your own ;) )

I will also add 2 Echoczar delay pedals in the first picture, which are something you do NOT want to look up.But... you already are, right?

Why is there all that black tape all over your pedals?

Even for post-rock stuff -- delay, modulation pedal, and volume pedal.
