I just got into with Crafted on FB for them breaking your drummer's snare. They are pricks.

It just got interesting. The lead singer/guitarist from Crafted just sent me a message.

I've heard too many horror stories. I'll never lend any gear whatsoever to anyone whatsoever, come hell or high water.

Nope, we made like £40 but it's all going to a new drum.

Just incase anyone wants to gig in Glasgow, watch Crafted, they broke our stuff.

And i don't know who turned off the amps, the house sound man or them. The Academy is supposed to be the best place in Glasgow, but someone turned off our amps and they sounded horrid, no sustain or anything. It was terrible. And we've lost a sh!tload of money on an expensive snare. So i'm raging. And now poor. Can't believe they'd do that to us. Named and shamed though, Crafted broke our stuff and didn't say.

I'm a little confused with the situation. Do you mean they actually turned the power off on your guitar amps? Why not turn them back on and set to the volume you choose? No sound man or stage hand touches my amp. That's not their job.

Did they destroy the entire drum, or just the head? How much does a new snare head cost? You can get a new snare head for less than 20 bucks.

We'll get it re-headed but they owe us the money either way.

The amps got turned off and weren't warmed up when we got told to start, so it was cutting in and out all first song and was quite quiet for that one, but got better the longer it was on. I'm not fussed about that, could have been a mistake. If they hadn't been assholes and had said they'd broken our drum, I'd be cool. But they didn't, and then they left the place without saying, and our drummer got real pent up and angry, so everything was too fast and she missed cues. It's just gotta be taken, but we aint loaning anything out again.

And also we're only 16, so can't really afford to take backups, I don't take a second guitar cause i can't afford a second LP style one. Need my own gig size amp first.

I see. That makes more sense now.

Yes, it really sucks when a gig that you look forward to, goes down the crapper.
Sorry to hear that it went so bad. You can't trust them damn musicians, especially drummers.

I've found all the bad gigs help me to really appreciate the good ones even more. Every gig is a learning experience, good and bad. Good luck on all your future gigs. :thumb:
