Well, we played at the 02 Academy, and it was sh!t. Which i can deal with. But...

For a start, the promoter said they'd sold 700 tickets. They hadn't, it was empty. But that isn't the worst thing.

The band on before us asked to borrow our snare drum. So Lucy our drummer obliged. He used it for sound check, fine. He was a real nice dude, before we went on he came up and saw us and wished us luck. Seemed like a top bloke.

So we go on. And he's broken her snare drum. Put his stick right through it, so big you could put your fist through the hole. And he spoke to us after he was on, and didn't even mention it. So now we're down a snare drum. And from then on it went terribly. They turned all the amps off, so we had to play our first songs with amps cutting in and out, and really quiet cause they'd turned them all off. And our drummer was really angry so everything was too fast. And she's properly upset now, and we're all raging cause we're down The price of a Pearl steel snare.

End rant.

Shite gig indeed....get paid for it?

It's always nice to have a sound guy or at least a friend who can do the job for little or nothing in case of an emergency.

Bet that's why their drummer needed to borrow your drummer's snare; he'd whacked a hole in his own.

Nope, we made like £40 but it's all going to a new drum.

Just incase anyone wants to gig in Glasgow, watch Crafted, they broke our stuff.

And i don't know who turned off the amps, the house sound man or them. The Academy is supposed to be the best place in Glasgow, but someone turned off our amps and they sounded horrid, no sustain or anything. It was terrible. And we've lost a sh!tload of money on an expensive snare. So i'm raging. And now poor. Can't believe they'd do that to us. Named and shamed though, Crafted broke our stuff and didn't say.

you would have to try pretty hard, hitting way beyond what is necessary even for a loud drummer

Some "musicians" are real assholes, man. They won't even try to cut heads square and fair.

They broke the snare-drum shell?

There'd be money changing hands -- one way or the other -- if someone broke my gear.

I understand that you're pissed off, and have reason to be, but I don't get the problem with the amps. So they turned them off, what was the problem in just turning them on again? Or did they cut the power to them at the source?

Well you all should take this as a lesson. If anyone in the future asks to borrow anything all you have to say is,
We are sorry but don't have a back up for that and due to previous incidents never loan any of our gear out period.

Sorry to hear about the shitty circumstances surrounding your gig. :wtf:
I don't think I would lend my gear out.
