Is it possible to fix a worn out trem bar? Mine is an RG220B tremolo bar that seems to lack a bushing to stop it from dropping to vertical when released. I want it to stay put when I let it go. The previous owner tried to fix it by wrapping duct tape around the shaft. I removed it, as it was ineffective, and hideous.

Even when new it is difficult to get the bar to stay on the Lo-TRS II since it doesn't, as you noted, have bushings.

May not be your first preference for a "fix" but I think an OFR is a drop-in replacement.

No need to replace the entire trem. The bushings can be found at a number of places. One possible source > IBANEZ RULES!! - PARTS FOR SALE

Make sure that you get the correct parts for yours, and understand the tension adjustments for the arm. Some are on top, some are inside the rear cover. (I'm too lazy to look up which trem yours came with)

I know a guy who used plumbers tape on his. I think just enough so it was snug. But wrap it TIGHT!

If that doesn't work, just get a new bar.
