Popping sound when flicking switch

Is this normal for a brand new 2020 Gibson Standard 50s Les Paul?
when Iuse the switch as a “kill switch”to go from middle to silent Treble or Rhythm to middle, the speaker makes a pop. Is there a remedy to get that Ace Frehley effect without the popping?

Spray a bit of contact cleaner in there, it may need it, dust / general crap can get in there during manufacture and being on a store's wall for a while

Try not to get any on the finish of your guitar to be safe
