Back Issue prices will skyrocket!
(JC Penney catalog was better.
In my humble opinion.)

At least Henry is not running Playboy. We'd have the likes of 3D pictures that require RG glasses, scratch and sniffs on every picture, and all the ads for Lifestyle and Prestige items that we all desire.
If ol' Henry was running Playboy, all the models would have crazy wide necks and brass nuts....

The only problem with the pics in Playboy is that they mislead young men who had never "been with" a real girl/woman into thinking that is what real girls/women looked like. Then these young men found out that real girls/women have bodies like their own -- imperfect. This kind of took the shine off the "first time".

This announcement by Playboy is just a publicity stunt to get some media attention, nothing more.

Playboy Won't Publish Nudes Anymore. Here Are Four Things That May Happen. | Houston Press

I wrote about this in an article today, but essentially sales of the actual physical magazine are about a sixth of what they used to be, and porn is so easily accessible on the internet that "classy" nude pictorials in an old school girly magazine looks old fashioned and quaint now. The company still has one of the most recognizable brands in the world, and they're trying to reach new and younger audiences who want a different kind of content.

Anyone ever try to find the hidden bunny on the cover. There is one on every magazine since sometime in the 60's.

New info. When I picked up my newspaper this morning, it contained an article about this from the Washington Post. Beginning with the March 2106 issue, females shown in Playboy will wear clothes! The article didn't say what clothes or where.

A Playboy spokesman interviewed said that the sexual revolution Playboy promoted spawned internet porn, which (ironically) made Playboy obsolete.

I think this analysis is flawed. The nudes in Playboy are far from porn. Instead, they are art of the female body, which has been around in the art world for centuries. On the other hand, in no way is internet porn art. But instead it actually is educational. From it, one can learn new positions and techniques and can try them out with their mate. The same things are offered to gays and lesbians, if that is who you are. And in no way can the pics in Playboy be considered educational -- unless you are a 12 year old boy!

Playboy is making a bad move. There has been a place for the kind of art they feature for centuries. And actually there has been a place for porn for almost as long. The two can coexist, and have done so for a long time.

Corner stores that used to have shelves full of nudie mags are shrinking and
disappearing altogether. PB is a lifestyle brand now. Remember when being a Playboy plaate could launch a career? Well, it got them B movie roles.

Hustler's August 1977 Scratch 'n' Sniff centerfold remains a camp classic.

It's a smart move. They will probably bring back a different demographic to the magazine and everyone else will spend 3 times per month over what the magazine costs to see it online. And with online there is no *cost of materials*
