Ok, so in May I decided to buy a Simpletech mini for a backup drive. It's a cool little usb external drive. You can buy whatever you want, does not have to be a simpletech. So anyway, I have been using it to backup my hard drive in the event something happened. Well last night it did. I got a nasty virus on my desktop and it killed my hard drive. Ok, did not kill it but the OS would not run anymore. I did the old Shift F11 trick and restored it to the factory settings. Plugged in the simpletech and did a restore and of course it worked like a charm. It saved everything, files, programs the whole thing. So my words of advice to you is if you have not planed for a hard drive crash, please do so. My life was much easier with this small investment.

Ok, just sharing a success story with you.

This virus was nasty too. It put a bunch of youporn.com shortcuts on my desktop. I immediately pulled the lan cable from my router when I saw that, so the genius who created the virus did not steal any data from me. Nice try, but try again.

A very good idea.....I had that happen a couple of years ago with a stupid pop up ad. I wasn't thinking, and clicked on the little "X" to close it...instead of closing it at the panel, lesson learned the hard way.
