I've been playing a cheap acoustic Epiphone guitar for years and I tought it looked really cheap, so I worked on it today:)!

Getting the Pickgaurd off..
]

Sanded the neck a little, also did this on the top..

An old Wham record to make a vinyl pickgaurd, damn I hate Wham:noway:!

Oiled the top to and glued the pickgaurd to the body.

It's done!
Looks more vintage and less cheap!:thumb:

The feel is way better than before, especialy on the neck.
Never tought a 120 euro guitar could play this nice!

This is great! I did almost the same thing with my Epiphone acoustic back in April. I'll post some pics!

Sanded the whole thing, swapped the tuners, and put on the pickguard

you can get a decent tone out of those x braced solid spruce top epi's . i would have cut a new saddle and nut first , then worried about how she looked .
