I vote for the pickguard.
I'm surprised you haven't been successful trading your LP for a PRS, but I guess I'm equally surprised you're even trading an LP for a PRS.
It could be a mistake I suppose, but I've owned this guitar for 6 months now and still just don't feel 'attached' to it... It's a love/hate thing...
I recently bought a Squier CV50 and tend to grab it before the Les Paul, there is just something not right about that...

I like the way you think, really. =P

Solid colors = on
Bursts = off
I do agree this is a good rule, this top just doesn't have as much flame as I wish it did, so I'm not really covering up much.

Do whatever you want.
I tried, no one wanted to trade for a PRS. :D

I'm not all that surprised you haven't been able to trade. PRS makes a nice guitar and their necks feel way different than a Gibson. I would say pickguard off, except, since the hole has been drilled the empty hole would drive me nuts.
No holes have been drilled, it's just sitting there for the pic. I'd probably have more luck if I could get on one of the PRS forums, but one is awaiting approval (for over a week now) and the other won't allow posting if you aren't a premium member. Not saying I wont become a premium member at a later date, but I don't want to shell out $50 just to post a feeler that might amount to nothing.

No Pickguard, better resonance!
I never even considered this, are you serious or just yanking my chain?
Oh shit, is this going to turn into one of those threads? :laugh2:

Well, boles took his pickguard off, and sluts came out of the screw holes.

Sluts? Screw holes? I got my screwdriver in my hand just thinking about it! :naughty:

Well met, sir!! Well met, indeed.
I'm a pickguard-on type-of-guy, but that's me...
If you're planning to trade it, leave it off. Then the new owner can decide for him/herself.
Or start another pickguard thread.
;)

If you leave the pickguard off then you are confirmed as a complete IDIOT.

Have we been here before?

Pickguard off, nibs on, KFC hat on, pickguard on, nibs off, KFC hat off and we've gone full circle. *sigh* :hyper::io:

i like them without the pickguard, gives it a more 'vintage-ey' look

I like the classic "on" look, with the standard pickguard... but it's what you like that counts. Have it both ways -- 6 months on, 6 off.
Also, consider that the pickguard is not just cosmetic, assuming the guitar is played. It really does guard against pick scratches on the finish. (Except when you miss the pickguard and your pick hits the wood up by the selector switch -- not sure how I did that, guess I got carried away.)

I'm not paranoid, but when you see the football players on the field all huddled together before a play, they're talking about me.

Paranoia is just smart thinking when the world is out to get you.

I'm sure we have, many, many times...... It was mentioned earlier in the thread (post #30) by either Marshall & Moonshine or Marshall & Moonshine, (I can't recall which one said it) that I could have just used the "Search" button as well... However, in this case I wanted opinions in reference to MY particular top/finish/flame, not NicolasRivera's super awesome relic'd LP, or your idols' new R8. If I didn't post a pic, how else could anyone have given an accurate opinion? (Except for the guys who are dead set on a pickguard all the time)
