ok first of all, i don't know where to put this post so i'll just leave it up to flick or alex to move it :D

so what's your preferred pick thickness?

for an acoustic guitar, depending on the strings, i usually like a thickness ranging from .51 to .71 depending on the gauge of the strings :D

for an electric guitar, probably .71 still but not any thinner.. and i like it when the end is kinda pointy, thus kinda tapered toward the tip.. :D

i know it may be really silly and some of you might say that a pick is a pick but i just thought i'd post it anyway  :fingersx:

:D

Hi!
For acoustic guitars, I like .71-.77, shell
For electric, 1.00 mm, delrin. Not thinner, not thicker.

I use .010 strings in acoustic or electric guitar

Thanks! I secretly favour my Standard more than the Custom. Only thing is it weighs a whole kg heavier than my Custom.

And yeah, managed to hang out with them here a few months back when their connecting flight to UK was cancelled. And I'm still not believing we actually got to sit and hang with them!

Fender Heavy...I like the pearloid or the muticolored celluloid...
I like the little percussive click it makes on attack.

You know, I swear the material of the pick makes as much difference sonically as the brand of strings. I know...I'm crazy.

Tortex Green, 0.83. Not because they're perfect, but because it's just what I've always played. I'm intrigued by the lignum vitae and "reshaped old silver coin" picks I've seen though.

Dunlop Nylon .38 .46 .60 .73 .88 and 1, the first two for acoustics or 11-up gauge strings. I must be the only one on here with thin picks.

They call it the 'Cat tongue Matrix' and its basically these little sharp bumps that make the surface of the pick feel like a cats tongue, all rough like sandpaper.

I haven't dropped a pick in years, and I'll never buy another brand. I get pretty sweaty too, and they never slip in your fingers or move position unless you change pick position.

Also the 'cat tongue' part doesn't wear down... I've always found with those tortex picks or anything with that powdery coating, they get shiny after a couple days and are even more slippery than a nylon pick.

I don't think I've ever broken one either, I think the .88 helps that. I buy about 30 a month though... always leave em in my pants pockets so they go through the wash, or in my car, or all over Hell and Creation. People always say they know when and where I've been visiting if my picks are around their houses.
