How can you tell it has P90's? Didn't he use a Black custom with humbucker with the covers removed with Delaney and Bonnie?

Here some other speculation/discussion about EC and a P90 (+AlnicoV) equipped Custom; the Paul Kossoff Custom..

Paul Kossoff Eric Clapton 1955 Les Paul Custom - Les Paul Forum<---LINK

Pic from '67

The Custom EC played around 69/70 - no pickguard, no pickup covers

Clapton with his humbucker Custom - Grovers, pup covers & guard on in sessions for Disraeli Gears

You think that's the one for sale on Ebay right now? (advertised as Koss' guitar)

Wasn't aware of that. Though it seems like the humbuckers even with the cover off would show up better?

Actually never heard of EC playing this guitar before. I'd always thought that he only played Strats in D & the D's.

I always loved how the black beauty's looked...but not a fan of the really low frets.

That's what refretting is for!

Also, I will put my '58 BB against any burst, any day of the week, tone wise.

BTW, the top picture with Derek is the PAF guitar. You can tell, because the '55 in the '67 picture has waffle back tuners, and the Derek guitar is clearly Grovers. Somebody pointed out that the Disraeli Gears guitar had Grovers, but nobody mentioned the Grovers on the Derek photo.

The Disraeli L.P. Custom has been the property of Albert Lee for a few decades. Eric gave it to him back in the `70's. That guitar is also the "Sunshine of Your Love" guitar. The other one that Eric is playing in the Dominos days was the one he got in trade from Koss and was used alot on that D & the Dominos tour.

The BB with HBs is also seen in Live Peace From Toronto with Lennon. It sounds amazing for the three licks that you get to hear over Yoko.

Does anyone have any info on what gear Clapton used on Wheels of Fire? I love his Sitting on Top of the World tone.
