The next model is coming soon, it might get called "The Quarter" according to Randy.

Works by using the wrong output jack into a cab of a different impedance to get even lower volumes without tone loss, a treble sweetener is added as well. More soon..

Got to fiddle with the Brink a bit more over the weekend. A big thumbs up to Randy and Bill.

I can't say much more than wormburner already has. It seems to knock about a quarter of the volume off with some slight treble roll off. I have no experience with any other attenuators but for $79 this little unit is a great addition to the gear pile. :thumb:

Question for anyone who has one:

My 25w Phaez Gemini gets loud quick. I am in an apartment but moving soon but still won't be able to crank it. Right now I use a clean boost to get to the volume where in good and too loud for neighbors which on the dials is such a tiny turn.

Will the Brink help me get a fuller/3D sound and be able to use my master volume and not have to turn it with a tweezer ;) I currently use the 8phm out to a 100w speaker (that laughs at the signal I send).

You might want to try the new Cortez which drops the volume by 75% but you connect your 4 ohm output into a 16 ohm cab to achieve it, it will be around the same price as a Brink, maybe $10 more according to Randy. I hope to build one this week...:fingersx:

If my girlfriend reads this she is going to come after you. A Brink I can hide...a new cab, speaker, and a Cortez I cannot. Will 4ohm out to 8ohm speaker have a smaller effect?

It would be a 50% reduction instead of 75% but we would need to change some parts to make it match better to your amp..

I should hold off then. I am running my Phaez into a Mustang 3 which I plan to turn into a lunchbox THR style amp (basically Mustang V) in tweed tolex and then get a real nice 1x12 or 2x10 built. So I will wait for the time being till I know what I have or just slip a Brink past the gf.

Got mine Monday. Thanks Randy and Bill!:thumb:

I'll concur with everything Wormburner and Matmont have posted. Havn't really had time to play with it much due to renovating the kitchen every night O get home from work, but will definately give it some loving this weekend. So far, sound great through the HRM/Hotcat and the 14w DC W:Doody

Alright I got to mess with the Brink today and I must say it's quite an amazing little box it does exactly as claimed, before I pluged it in I set everything like normal for that classic rock tone we all love, master on about 2 or around 8 oclock which is real loud and played some Grandfunk American Band sounded great like always, put Master at 9 oclock sounds great but real efin LOUD, hooked up Brink, it knocked the sound level way down to where you could talk over it but it does take a little treb out but thats an easy fix by just ajusting your tone controls alittle it DOES NOT rob your tone, ok same song crank master to around 11 oclock or so and bingo there's that glorious tube saturation and your ears arnt bleeding, actually the good saturation comes in way before that i'd say once you get passed 9 oclock it just gets better and better, once you get past noon on the dial it really does'nt get to much louder just more saturated, real nice and no ear bleed:thumb:
I did this with the Monticore (JTM circuit 6V6 tubes) and also the Asheville (SLO 100 circuit EL 84 tubes) does the same to the Asheville too, I have no complaints and for 79 bucks you can't beat it, great job Phaez :applause::applause:

I hope this makes sence.

Thx Bill.
And thx for clarifying that the amount of attenuation is the same as the Brink.
I'll stick with #001 for now.
