Hey!!

Are any of you interested in testing out some HOT pickups?

captcoolaid has this thread http://www.mylespaul.com/forums/pickups/204823-high-output-shoot-out.html about testing out various high output pups. I volunteered to modify a guitar to allow the pickups to be loaded from the bottom, with connector clips, so that the set-up and tuning would all stay consistent.

Some of our best players and experienced video demo'er'ers live in this thread so I wanted to pop in and see if someone would want to help out with the testing. If so, or if you just want to be a part of the conversation, go here http://www.mylespaul.com/forums/pickups/204823-high-output-shoot-out.html to join in.

Sorry for the hijack - ignore the man in the corner - move along - these aren't the droids you're looking for, etc.

Carry on :D

Sounding sweet Roscoe. Your HRM has the 6v6's? Sounds just like mine.

Not sure if anyone is aware of this but it's pretty cool for me. Some amps have a line out which is usually tapped off of the preamp. These are great and def usable. Some amps have a slave out which is usually tapped off of one of the speaker outputs. Both are line level which is achieved by padding the signal. I just found out from Randy that his slave is tapped from the speaker output which means you get some poweramp charachteristics in the signal. That is awesome as some don't! Great for a board if you play out but for recording it's fantastic. You can mic a cab and in addition send the slave in the DAW as well with a speaker IR for a really killer sounding direct second track to effect then blend with the dry micd signal or whatever. In a nut shell having the poweramp involved in the slave signal is a big bonus for getting the best DI possible. A lot of amps have this and some don't. Randy's does.

Any perspective purchaser who may be concerned how a phaez can perform as a studio amp can be assured there are cool options to be had. Right on Randy!!!
Not to mention my DC 14 cuts through the mix like a knife through butter.
Yeh, I've been saying this since I got it way back. Also for an effects track I run the line out through a proceesor then into a portico 5012 on silk. Smoooth:D

Sadly I haven't had time to get in here and listen to any of those recent clips. I just made time to listen to the last one.

AMAZING Rosco! :applause:

So inspiring. I'd have a guitar in my hands if I were home. :dude:

reminds me of the Warren Haynes stuff i've been listening to on a few Gov't Mule records.

i wish i can play like that one day. blues guitar is so damn simple, yet so difficult to master, for me at least.

Thanks barry, but it's about the amps man.

These tracks are from the big roscopalooza show.

I was lucky to have my buddy bill smith record the event.
Thanks billy!
