Velcro = hook and loop fastener

LOL... Velcro has two parts... a hook side and a loop side (that's what makes the two pieces stick together). I'm wondering which side you put on your board, and which side you put on your pedals.

The hook side is on my pedals.

Kill switches on your straps? Reeaally... Do you make your own, or is that something you buy?

I buy them, the ones I use are supposedly hand made in America, this is the exact one that I use, it's cheap, and me proof.

The reason why I put it on my strap is because it is so small I couldn't possibly hope to control it with my size 13 feet, so I control it by hand, and have it located on the side of my guitar strap that is closest to the input jack. Not to mention it's psssive, so it doesn't require a battery or a power supply, which is probably why it is so small.

hook side on the board, loop side on the pedal. i've seen the loop side wear out plenty of times and its much easier to replace on a pedal than it is on the entire board. YMMV

Mine is approx 100x40cm, huge but I will need it because my line 6 POD is huge.

I put the loop part on the board and hook part on my pedals.
I like that the pedals will stick to carpet, and I have two cats at home... ever try picking pieces of cat hair out of the loop side of Velcro? It's an excercise in futility.

As a minor aside, I bought a pedal from a member, and it's great except I didn't want Velcro on the pedal so I pulled it off.
It left some cosmic glue on the paint so I tried Goo Gone and after half an hour I had made a dent in it.
So, brilliant me switched to Goof Off and promptly removed the paint off the pedal.
Then I spent a week repainting the bottom.

BTW, Goof Off works great on Pelican type cases removing the shipping labels. Just don't use it on paint.

I prefer to put the loop on the pedal, then if you need to take the pedal off the board it does not stick to carpets. BUT, my last two purchased boards come with the loop side n the board. So all my pedals currently have the hook side on the pedals, and the reason the board I just built myself is set up with the loop on the board.

I prefer the isolated pedal to stick to the carpet, so I put the hook on the pedal, the loop on the pedal board

I stopped sing Velcro and now use Dual Lock. Pedals stick better, and both sides are the same.
