By different design, my mod pedals need to be set up in a certain way so as to easily connect them using my current pedal cables. Like a jigsaw puzzle, I have set up my mod pedals as such, but wonder if there needs to be a certain order in the loop. Any thoughts? I have a power supply coming in the mail and will be putting the following through the loop:
-EHX Electric Mistress
-DOD Stereo Chorus
-Ibanez Phaser
-Ibanez Analog Delay
-EHX Stereo Pulsar
-BOSS GE-7

GE-7, Chorus, Flanger, Phaser, Tremolo, Delay

Reasoning: tone shaping first, slight-to-heavy modulation, time-based last

...just my $0.02...

Sure. Pedal order is just a matter of taste. Experimentation is a good thing. Who knows, you might like the EQ last and the tremolo first? In the big picture, there really are no rules to this stuff. Just use those holes on the side of your head the best you can.

IMO, the phaser should be in front of the amp, sounds better. In the loop GE-7 first, then chorus, tremelo, then delays

Agree on the Phaser placement. . .sounds better pre-dirt to my ears.

The rest is down to personal taste and what your ears tell you.

I'd put the Phaser near the start of your pedal chain then run the following in the loop.

GE-7 --> Chorus --> Flanger --> Tremolo --> Delay

I'd experiment with the order of the delay and trem (at the end) and the chorus and flanger (in the middle). . .the EQ "should" sound best and have its best effect post dirt.

Thanks, I have found that my Phaser sounds like s*** through the loop, it gets muddy and garbled with distortion (no playing Rocket Ride from KISS). Hopefully this will clear things up:dude:

I'll just have to try it out when I get home, but would you guys put the phaser before the wah or after?

Personal preference...wah first, so that it can interact with the pickups better. Glad to see you're experimenting. Who knows, you may end up with everything in front of the amp?...except for the delay? Keep trying stuff out. Switching cables around takes just a few seconds.

Yup, what Big John said. . .

I am forced to run my TrebleBoost first as its really picky but my Wah is second.. .then its other Fuzzies that hate buffers, then on to the buffered gain --> Noise Gate --> Modulation --> Reverb --> Delay.

I actually prefer reverb after delay but my modulation/reverb is all from an M9 so it has to go prior to my delay.

Thanks for the help:thumb: I think I'm getting what I want now. The phaser in front was a key fix..I have my phaser back! And to think I thought there was something wrong with it!:) Of course, the Rocket Ride chords followed close behind:D. This is what I ended up with:

Tuner--->Crybaby--->Q-Tron-->Phaser--->HM-2--->SD-1----Fuzzbrite---->Amp

Loop is GE-7-->Mistress-->Chorus--->Pulsar--->Delay

All pedals are working well and sound great! Now, about my playing.....:shock: Perfect time to sharpen skills with a new setup. You guys rock!:thumb:

Only other thing I'd suggest that you try is moving the tuner after the Wah. You may notice a difference. . .

Or even in the last slot in the loop...turning it on in this position kills the amp: dead silence.

I love that song Rocket Ride, Ace is the shit. I have my wah first only because I don't put it on my pedalboard. It's a BG wah so it's true hardware bypass so if it's off it doesnt effect the tuner.
Your pedal placement looks good now but like everyone says, you may want to switch pedals around, you might like something better.
