You're asking about 2 fairly maligned amps around here. Line 6 gets almost no love amd the vypyr gets mixed reviews. Most people around here will tell you to get a fender mustang.
I have no playing experience with these amps, I've just read enough threads to tell you how this is going to go.

Pretty much sums it up. Between the two though, I'd go with the Peavy. I've owned Line 6 products in the past and, questionable tone quality aside, the build quality seems dodgy.

I got a vypyr 60 and it took me a while to connect with it but now I wont part with it. What took me a while to connect to it was, I was hoping the 6505 modelling was as good as the real thing. You get a good EVH tone but I like metal and good never get it sounding right. If I wanted a 6505 I should have gotten one but the 112 combo's came out here in Australia about 6 weeks after I got the vypyr. However after a bit of time I found the dual rec modelling offered what I wanted and even the JSX modelling was good. I got a Strat last year and that combined with the amp has opened up near endless tone.

It's a good amp to have fun with and get a range of tone from covering many genre's, however it's good at many but a master of very few. The actual amps it mimics are better but the pay off is you don't spend thousands and have a mass of amps.

My first amp was a Line 6. I traded it for the Vypyr T60 with the Sanpera 2 foot controller. I consider the T60 to be the perfect at home amp: all the amp/effects models, headphone capable and the ability to run MP3 backing tracks. If you are near NJ, pm me and you can come by and play it.
