Don't you think winding the best replica of a pickup that was never wound the same way twice (exaggeration I know, but maybe not far off) is kind of moving target?

Imagine a new boutique winder opening shop, he advertises the best of the best, no expense spared and totally authentic. He proudly declares he has no idea how many windings he'll use from one set to the next or which magnets he'll use. That would be awesome right?

We have a great range of great pickups and great interpretations of what each winder hears and has taste for based on their experience.

I say try as many as you can but it really does come down to splitting hairs. Plus playa set in one room and then move your gear to another. Now you need more pickups. It never ends.
