I recently came across P-90 Goldtop and the space between the end of the neck and front pup cavity seems "off".
My question is this: On an HB, the end of the neck is not flush with the front pup cavity and the pup ring covers this. On a P-90, it appears the P-90 cavity rout is moved forward and the neck fits more flush with the cavity as well, but it's not filled and finished. The one I found looks like someone filled the area as it's completely finished like the top, no seams and smooth.
Could this be a re-neck, a fake or is it correct (depending on year)?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
