I just bought this LP Studio from a dealer in Japan.
Arrived yesterday and is hands down my new favorite playing LP.
I bought it because it looks exactly like both of the 1990 era Signature Joe Perry Les Pauls.
The seller didn't have much information on it aside from it's a 1997 Made in USA LP.
I found the original truss rod cover in the case. It's engraved as "Limited Edition 43 of 50"

Originally I just thought it looked like the Joe Perry model, but now I'm thinking this might actually be a Joe Perry signature model that was released overseas. I couldn't find any information online about any overseas models. I have an email into the Gibson Customer Service asking if they have any info.

Thought I'd ask you guys as well!

Thanks!

**update**
just got a response Gibson.
It’s a 94 Les Paul Studio Lite made exclusively for Yamano (Gibsons Japanese distributor at the time)

That guitar was made in 1994.
Serial numbers for that "Anniversary Year" started with 94.
If the usual combo of numbers was used, it would have been made on the 403th day of the year...

The JP model had a custom pickup with boost at the bridge.
Also a "signature" in white under the tailpiece.
Top was a two piece, yours is a three piece.
The neck was a really really big '59 rounded.
You'd have noticed it.
In fact, I didn't get one because of the neck...

Still a very nice guitar!
And nice to own.

Thanks ! It really is a great playing guitar !

The neck isn’t as fat as a 59 but it’s got some heft.
The first thing I did was to see if it had the push/pull wah pot in the tone control. It didn’t lol.

I think the 97 model had that.

Did the 93 have the boost ? I know it had black binding and “joe Perry” inlayed in the headstock in place of”Les Paul”
