Anything that makes you look less like a dad would be good. But nothing that makes you look like you still think your are 18. Lol
I always wore stylish jeans, not dad jeans. And usually some retro rock t shirt or plain colored t. Nothing too tight or too big. And of course Converse all Stars. Own them in just about every color made.

What the hell are "dad jeans"?

right? but almost always worn with either combat boots, doc martens, or converse. ..though usually boots since converse are for 'rock' way more than metal.

Have to wear jeans and flip flops to be metal.

Depends on crowd, venue, type gig...

I am more backline so I wear what I want within the constraints of gig... I don't wear shorts much just around the house or lake house, never on stage. Almost always wear my flat cap...

We do outdoor gigs on the coast and a couple of the guys will wear tasteful shorts, cool with me... I'll still wear my Levi's, Nike's, and a loose buttoned dark shirt.

I don't like the idea of shorts on an INDOOR gig...

Class goes a long way on stage...

Next time I'm going to wear Grandpa pants, hiked up to my waist with a white button shirt (white T underneath with food stains) with short, maladjusted red suspenders.....white socks and brown crush valure slippers.....

Maybe a spiked leather bracelet.....

Play in my easy chair

I mean REALLY !! What IS appropriate for a 53 year old who is still in a band???

Really think about it now....I am a grandfather of four ...(with another on the way) .... The kids today just scowl at the music we make and regress to their stupid earbuds and ITunes of hip hop iggity biggity .....so what do I wear?

I don't really want to be something I am not....(an 18 year old rock star) I don't want to come off as a 53 year old grandpa ....Which I don't think I look like....(my hair is still very long.....(oh but wait....that isn't cool anymore either) .....Should I smoke? Sideways ball cap? no.....Excessive gold neck wear ....no .....obviously not shorts....or sandals with socks... god forbid........hmmm what would make me age appropriate.....not frumpy....but still in touch with a youthful outlook and sexual prowess....hmmmmm that still works .....real good ....in fact too good ....no....better not swank out on 20 somethings.......liable to get that creepy look .....like I stare too much!!! :wow:

LEts be honest ...older women ARE NOT impressed a middle aged guy is still playing in his sandbox with his buddies.....just not the same as your 16 year old girlfriend literally dressing you for the big night....

Oh well .....its a no win situation.....I'll wear whatever I want.... no one really cares, I'll still try and entertain....clownish as it may be.....As long as its loud

Please no tennis shoes or sneakers of any type, sheesh. Converse are cool when you're a teenaged punk, Vans and other "skate" shoes maybe until your mid to late 20s or so. When you become a man you wear some nice boots made out of something that was once alive, there are plenty of options for any style or genre.

it would seem 50-60 year olds are the biggest wearers of Converse/Chuck Taylors these days.

I see them when I'm out...they're usually bright colors too.

My own dad has like 2 pairs, also bright colors. Makes no sense to me. :laugh2:

60 years old in neon yellow shoes. :laugh2:

I suspect my generation is going to end up curmudgeonly because we see our parents still acting like teenagers. It's sort of embarrassing. I miss my Grandparents. Right or wrong they acted their age.

I mean I get it, at 60 wtf cares what someone else thinks about anything. So wear the neon shoes and be happy. But it's just bizarre.

M, I walk 3-4 miles daily to keep me from EXPLODING. I wear Sketchers relaxed fit neon bluew/SHOCK orange laces. They are very comfortable. A guy at work commented,

"Nice kicks."
"Thanks. They are bright, but so am I."
"They are a cool "flavor." We call them "flavors" now."
"Yipppeee. You guys are wild."

I'm timeless. I'm in better shape than 20 year olds. I never tire. Have same size waist as when I was 25=32 inch. I back up my jive. Youth=overrated. I see pasty slobs ---huffing+puffing---zero charisma. I just turned 51. Some young zit-head thinks I'm corny? He/she can go pop an Oxy.............

Here you go. Sex Pistols Hawaiian shirt+neon sneakers.

I DESTROYED this place----

Mommy/booker kept crying" TOO LOUD."
Nice-band's family huffed and walked out" They STINK."
Soundguy bubbled" Who do they think they are?"

EAT FUZZ. I play for the imps/angels.Humans=fodder.

Guess what? I'm invited back there on July 29. MOMMY/BOOKER has a "crush" on my half-dead bassist-she books FEZZ so she can "moon-eye" Tommy Red Flop.........I ALWAYS WIN! I'm wearing my pink FEZZ shirt under Pistols shirt-SUE ME!
