Looking at listing this from Japan, I think it’s a 1991.
should they have nibs?

I thought it was just the reissues. I thought they were made from 1992 to 1995, but I'm sure if that is in incorrect someone will be along to tell you.

As mentioned, certain models over a particular period had FEB. My 1993 OBG LPS-59R has FEB. These write ups might shed some light on it:

In general no they do not have nibs.

I have seen a ton of Orvilles here in Japan and none of them have nibs - but you never know, they may be some oddities out there (but they would be an oddities if you do come across one).

My Fujigen Epiphone SG is from a short lived line from 1999 - 2000 (for the Japanese market only) where left over Orville stock was relabeled 'Epiphone' and it does not have nibs.

Orville (no nibs) is different from Orville by Gibson (no nibs) is different from ObG Reissue models (nibs). It's dizzying.

Orville by Gibson, yes - different build, even had some U.S hardware in those. Even in Japan 'Orville by Gibson' is rarer to find than straight up Orville guitars.

To confirm, Orville guitars = no nibs. Orville by Gibson = nibs

I saw an Orville by Gibson last month for just under 100,000 yen - and it did have nibs.
