Just joined the forum and I found this thread, so I decided to share some pictures of my K serial no. Orville LPS-75 (1991) :)

It seems to have a 3-piece maple top and 4-piece back. Also, a neck heel cap (Which I read that Terada usually has this) and trans neck tenon. But I've gotta say, the guitar plays well and feels good in my hands.

Has a '59 C-shaped neck profile, which was rather surprising! But I am totally loving it, even though I was a little disappointed by the construction specifications haha
Same specs as My 1990 OBG ....Med-long tenon, heel cap and neck profile.
OBG differences ... 3 piece back with 2 pc Birdseye Maple top and Bill Lawrence HB pups.

I love the Bill Lawerence pickups. I have an 89 OBG with them. Sound great IMO. Nice guitar.

Same pup's in my '88 OBG....... I can't quite dial 'em to my satisfaction. Thinking seriously about getting something from James at ReWind and dropping 'em in.....

Was just wondering if anyone here knows what bridge and pickups are these? From what I've managed to Googled, this isn't the usual pickups that come with Terada Les Pauls haha

The bridge is probably Gotoh/Hosco.

It's hard to ID pickups that have no markings though. I have some Burny pickups (made by Gotoh I think) with brass baseplates. L8000 series.

Hey All,

Always been aware of 'Lawsuit' era guitars and the quality of Japanese work (have an Electra LP custom bass) but had never heard of ObG until I recently got offered one in a trade and am completely blown away by it. After scouring for info online I found this thread and wanted to add pics and details of mine for posterity. Funny enough this guitar is mentioned in a post from a few years back.

Terada 1991 November date, medium or 'transitional' neck joint in a plain top Vintage Sunburst finish. Pickups were replaced at some point, pots are original. Two piece neck (heel joint) three piece back (middle seam and small piece at lower bout) and weighs a little over 8 lbs. Throw in the original paperwork and an ObG hardcase and I'm like a pig in...well you know what.

Thanks to everyone who has shared info and pictures of their guitars over the years, this has been a fun thread to read through.

Nice guitar! Looks a lot like the ‘91 Terada ObG I recently purchased. I think my pickups are 490s. Now if I could find a pickguard that fit…
